We only go here for the playground, which is disappointing since they "updated" it.Playground: I'm not sure why they changed the playground, but it's very small now. It gets overcrowded easily, and it's hard for the kids to play safely in such a small area.Restrooms: Outhouses are too far away from the playground.

This is great park to walk around play with the kids if it was summertime the water slide and the pool would be awesome. As for me I really enjoyed The walking trail It stretches out a good ways and follows along the river which I believe made it more enjoyable. The walkway is paved without tripping hazards which made it good for running jogging or just walking and talking with friends. I would definitely recommend this to anybody that's outdoors type. Only small complaints the playground area has gone downhill many people have told me that if you have kids they wouldn't take their kids there now because the lack of playground equipment makes it too crowded. I would definitely enjoy seeing some of our tax dollars go to improve that area. Would rather see kids playing at the playground with their family and friends instead of being on the streets.Playground: Playground needs improvements and more play equipment.

The playground here has been the place where my kids always loved to go,it was big then. I took a friends daughter the other day to play and she had a great time but I noticed the playground has gotten a lot smaller. Still fun for the kids.

This is the local YMCA/Alfond Center. I use the gym, have taken classes, played pickleball. There's a pool, various spaces and programs for young people. Really, a community treasure.

The water slides were down (not working) and we called ahead of time, the day prior, so you think they would have told us when we called to find out about pricing and hours etc, that the slides were down this weekend. We have access to a private pool next door that is MUCH CLEANER because it was very dirty as well, stuff floating thru water in pools and all on bottoms of pools. So the kiddos were upset but I tried to help make it fun for them but only stayed 2 hours and we payed FULL price even tho slides had been not working & broken down for pretty much every day for last couple weeks we find out now. Especially, when it would have been 20 more minutes south for us and could have gone to Windham water park & had a great labor day weekend. Definitely will do that next time!!

The North Street Playground USED TO BE a great little place to gather for children of all ages. The recent renovation is SHOCKINGLY inadequate and inferior. This is NOT an improvement. It wasn't necessary. The previous reviews posted here are based on the old park.Whomever designed and approved these changes has quite obviously never been to a GOOD city park.No shade. No benches. No trash control.Inadequate and inconvenient toileting facilities. The covered picnic tables are greaT !Why did they remove the concrete? The black gravel makes it virtually impossible to keep the children's hands clean during lunch. It is beyond sad. The citizens of Waterville should be outraged at the expense WASTED on this "park".Playground: Smaller than it's previous structures, this playground is poorly designed, inadequate for the majority of children I see there on my frequent visits. There is no shade, no place NEAR the structures for the parents to sit, and no convenient toileting accommodations. The wood chips need to be raked and refreshed. The GARBAGE is out of control. "Carry in-carry out" seems to be a new concept to users. The covered picnic tables and grills are great but too far away from the play structures.Restrooms: There are none. There is a portable potty that is too small, too far away, and not cleanDog-friendliness: There are no dog parks in WatervillePicnic area: The covered tables are nice but why was the concrete pad removed? It is very difficult to keep the children's hands clean with the black gravel mess.
