This place is the best. I worked 92 hours in 5 days trying to get the power restored to central Maine, this is the only place that offered to give us a free meal. I got the cheese curds and a small cheese pizza and it was honestly one of the best meals I have ever eaten. I gave the nice lady a $30 tip because I don’t deserve a free meal, this is the job I chose. I do appreciate the gesture though, Excellent people. 10/10

My home fries were bland and undercooked, which I would have looked passed had I not watched the girl behind the counter butter my toast AT the counter as she ran the cash register and then held a customers baby. I did not see her wash her hands or put on gloves the entire time. It was mediocre food and mediocre service.

Best food in cleanest atmosphere within a 50 mile radius, maybe more. No matter breakfast lunch or dinner food is always good. Service people and cooks are great and friendly. You’re there to serve the best they can and they’re glad to do it.Weekday morning breakfast, ask the first when you see for Helen. She makes the best “to you taste breakfast and faster than most in these parts.And no worries about them finding Helen, in spite of all she can do to serve everyone she’s likely the one you’ll meet at the counter from your first step into the restaurant .All cooks and services are friendly and polite and are personally driven to give you the best service they can.This eatery won’t disappoint. It’ll be the one place around that you will be pleased and happy to and can’t wait to tipI assure you you’ll become a long-term patron .

It's good to give credit where it is due. The amazing cooks at Bear Pond Variety truly have the expertise at making "tasty fried chicken." I'm impressed with the appealing, richly flavoured chicken wings that warrants for a "non-stop" bite after first bite as it is that good. And most importantly, I appreciate the hygienic fashion in which it is prepared on each time.

The sign outside and all the menus say breakfast served all day. We were excited to finish our chores and have a date for breakfast on the way home but no. False advertising on the sign as well as all the menus. We arrived at 11:05 and were promptly informed breakfast ended five minutes ago. So we ordered hamburger subs and it was extremely lacking in every way. Complete disappointment. At least the store had cider..
