Cozy, beautiful spot far away from the crowds but close enough to restaurants and other activities. Booked it through AirBnB, So many trails close by. Enjoyed it so much. Equipped with kitchen, a living & kitchen area, bedrooms, it is more than comfortable for a family traveling with kids and wanting to do outdoor activities close by (hikes, kayaking, cruises on the lake ). Clean accommodation & responsive owner.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights, in Unit One, which has been attractively remodeled. It has two comfortable beds, electric heat, and a fully equipped kitchen, with a full-sized fridge, four- burner stove with oven, microwave, toaster, coffee-maker, and all necessary cooking and eating utensils. The room might possibly seem rather small to some, but we felt it was a comfortable place to cook our own meals and relax after an active day outdoors, followed by a good night's sleep. We weren't looking for a suite. Considering the pandemic precautions, we were pleasantly surprised to find that an air-purifying unit was used in each room between guests, and everything was very clean. We did not have much interaction with the proprietor other than check-in, check-out, but he was pleasant and helpful. The motel is located well outside any town limits but an easy drive to Sugarloaf, the AT, and other outdoor pursuits. Mountain View Motel was perfect for us, and we hope to stay there in the future.

Nice staff but the rooms were absolutely disgusting. Our “clean sheets” had hair balls and cigarette butts in them and the moldy must filled air clogged up the rooms so much that it was hard to breathe. I would recommend staying here as a last resort.

Friendly, convenient, wonderful. Right next to shops and restaurants, laundry down the street, and gas station within walking distance. Would rate higher if I could.

This is a review coming from a Thru-hiker. What we care about is.... Is the location close to restaurants and grocery stores and within walking distance? Yes! There were two restaurants nearby, a grocery store for resupply, and an alcohol store. For a farther walk you can find a library and a gas station with additional food options. Is a hostel an option? Yes! This morel also has a hostel with hiker boxes and a friendly dog that runs around. There is also a kayak that you can take out for free and kayak on the river behind the motel that leads to a bigger lake. Shower? Yes! Shower with towels included with actual shampoo, conditioner and body wash. You are given one toilet paper roll at a time. Beds? Yes two beds that were comfortable and for $15 extra we were allowed to have a fifth person in the room. WiFi was great and the tv had plenty to watch. Unfortunately no laundry options for hikers nor is there a laundromat in town. That was the only thing it was missing. Kitchen in the hostel.

On our way to Canada I decided to try and skip chain hotels and try locally owned Motels and Inns. Of the four places I booked the Mountain View was very near the top. It was everything I expected as the title suggests, plus the location is great. It’s nearby Sugarloaf and a few ( very few in early summer, most were closed off season) restaurants. If we were staying longer the little kitchen would have come in handy too. I too suggest an extra nightstand or a folding table since the two beds are oddly placed, and there’s no where to set a glass etc. while in bed. I would stay at the Mountain View again.
