My family was renting a cottage during Leo’s ( hurricane) visit to the coast of Maine. We lost power very early and wondered what we will do as the day went on…no power, no heat, no water. I started the search for a hotel/motel that might have a generator. Fortunately, we found Boyce’s motel. The best part of this experience was Barrett Gray, the proprietor. After five phone calls trying to figure out rooms, dog friendly room etc. he still maintained his professionalism, understanding of our predicament, humor, and kindness.
We had lobsters, clams, etc that we were unable to cook at the cottage and Barrett offered to cook them for us. What an amazing gift that was for us.
The compound where all the rooms and cottages are situated is lovely and surrounded by flowers. The rooms are exactly as presented in the photos, clean, comfortable and they have a refrigerator with ice cold water bottles. Parking is right beside the compound. There is a small sun deck directly across the street with chairs and a beautiful view.
I wish we had looked into Boyce’s when we were searching for a short term rental. Boyce’s is perfectly situated in Stonington harbor.

We always enjoy comfortable and peaceful stay at Boyce's. Situated in the center of Stonington, beautiful coastal small town, we can easily walk to cafes, restaurants, shops, galleries, and harbors⛵. Barrett, the inn keeper, is very friendly and pleasant, and willing to answer all the questions:) Dog friendly, too.? We look forward to going back again! ?

The rooms are neat and tidy, with every detail considered and provided for your comfort and convenience. The proprietor is very knowledgeable and helpful making suggestions of things to do in the area. Perfect location.

This was my second time here and it's just as wonderful as the first time last year. The attention to details is one of the reasons it's such a charming and welcoming place. Rooms are immaculate, with comfortable beds, soft sheets and pillows, and well appointed. Located within walking distance of the harbor, restaurants and galleries, the grounds are enhanced by the beautiful flowers spilling out of window boxes. The host Barrett is incredibly helpful, both during the booking process and during the stay. I'm already looking forward to my visit again next year.

Quiet little family-owned motel right in beautiful Stonington. Clean rooms, great service, very reasonable prices. You can even buy fresh lobster from one of the coops and the owners will prep it for you. Really love this place.

Beautiful Motel in downtown stonington. Well maintained rooms, excellent service, fair prices, and just a great experience. Make sure you eat a meal on Boyces Pier, it has an awesome view of the Harbor.

Such a cozy and friendly room. Our room had a cute kitchenette with dishes and across the street from the bay, big closet and felt like home. I'll stay here again or recommend it to a friend. Right downtown and breakfast next door at the harbor diner. I recommend the lobster omelet. This is the longest review I wrote because I enjoyed my stay.

We stayed at Boyce's Motel as an after-thought, not a destination so it was just for one night. The service was so excellent, as was the 2-bedroom suite, that next year, it will be our 'destination' in Maine. A thoroughly delightful place and we all (4 ladies!) loved it so much we unanimously decided it's where we want to be! The town doesn't hurt either! Gracious folks, good food two doors down and unsurpassed scenery. It doesn't get any better than this!
