Our family visited the store 2 days ago. The store was clean and organized. They have plenty of boating and fishing supplies. The incredibly friendly staff, especially Kevin, answered all our questions.

West Marine, despite charging among the highest prices of all boating suppliers, refuses to pay it's employees a living wage. You can do better. Hamilton Marine is a locally owned and operated boating supply store which offers its employees the dignity of a living wage while not charging its customers an exorbitant markup. Shop local.

Smaller West Marine, located on Mount Desert Island. Has a good, but small, selection of clothing, foul weather gear, hardware and other marine supplies. If they don’t have an item in stock, the staff is more than happy to help you order an item to ship. Seems like most of the staff has decades of boating knowledge!

Went to pick up a simple rope at the Southwest Harbor, ME store. However, even if we weren't looking to spend much, our sales guy Robert was super friendly and helpful. Now that I know there's other stores I'll look for them in my travels.

I went in looking for a small hat for my head. I ending up meeting Bob, who was an extremely helpful employee. He showed what I needed in the store, showed me to the discounted items, and then he got out a map and showed me some cool places to checkout around the island. His recommendation resulted in a good rainy day drive to check out some placed I wouldn't have seen otherwise. Thanks Bob!
