Got a nail in my tire and needed a plug. Who knows from where. The camp grounds? Found this place nearby when I searched for tire shops. When I arrived they got on to fixin my tire right away! 47 bucks and great service. Got a souvenir pen too.
Made it back to NY same day no problems.

I was in MDI for the week and my car broke down at the beginning of the week. Skips was able to get me in and fix my alternator by the end of the week, and a fair price! 10/10 would recommend Skips!

We recently got a tire leak while staying in the area. Skip's took us as a walk-in and repaired the tire quickly and at a fair price. We were back on the road in no time. Thank you!

I moved to Maine from Colorado and Skip's auto was recommended. I checked out several other mechanics and got quotes ranging from $400-1200.00 to fix my car. I was told it could take over 4 hours to fix. Skip did it in 1 hour and could have charged me 3x more but did not. If you want an HONEST mechanic, I HIGHLY suggest going to Skip's in Southwest Harbor... CJ

This review is more for the self-serve car wash next door, that currently appears to be listed as one business.
A while back, when I was travelling through the area in major need of a car wash due to the multitude of bugs all over the front of my car.
The first thing I tried was going through the touch-less car wash, but it was out of order for whatever reason.
My next attempt was in the bay next to it, and it worked well. I put in the cash to start the machine and had 10 minutes to clean my car.
The sprayer was powerful and had plenty of soap. The was also a clear coat I used as well.
Overall, I was very happy with the car wash. My only knock was the automatic bay was down, but in the end, I probably ended up with a better cleaning since I did it myself and was able concentrate my focus on areas requiring the added attention to detail. For this reason, I will give 5 stars in lieu of the four I first considered...
Again, my review is strictly in relation to the car wash.

Awesome service! They worked hard to get my vehicle fixed so that I could drive it and not be stuck without it for a few days when I had an issue. The rates were also very reasonable.
