We are so lucky to have this community gathering place! It is so convenient, with all the essentials, a great selection of hot food and sandwiches, and the wine and beer selection is excellent.

I king Julian love the Southport general store. Me and my lemur family have a house on Southport near the general store in the summer. When I need to feed myself I go to the general store. They have everything a human and a lemur would need. As the lemur king I have to throw parties for the other lemurs. When I do this I order pizza from the general store to use at the party. Every lemur loves the pizza. I king Julian, king of the lemurs give this establishment a rating of 5 whole stars.

This was a great place to grab a sandwich, slice of pizza, and dessert after visiting Hendrick's Head Beach. There was plenty of parking in back, and nice tables to have a picnic. They also had a nice little gift shop with goods from local artists.

Excellent sandwiches and great selection of gourmet food. They have a room full of beer and wine with a solid selection there as well. Don’t forget multiple flavors of Maine Root soda and Moxie…they have it.The Southport brownie was the best. It’s a derivation of brownie, blondie, and chocolate chip cookie.

Went in the other day to get a light lunch snack. The store is under new management for the last few years. They have done a nice job updating things however the prices are borderline ridiculous. Most items in the store don't have prices on them. I got half a meatball calzone and was charged almost $11. I was considering putting it back. It was not bad but for its size it should have been about half that.

“General store” gives a sort of old timey, find the essentials sort of vibe, but the Southport General Store has taken that idea into modern life.Yes, you’ll find the essentials, but not in a dusty shop with only super basic brands- you can actually get nice stuff here! Lots of options for good snacks/condiments etc, an excellent selection of not-garbage wine, and a selection of sandwiches and other to-go food. They have seating outside to eat and play cornhole, and the entire place is just adorable.

What a great store. An expansive array of sandwiches made to order and very reasonably priced lobster rolls for a decently packed sandwich. Really pretty area of picnic tables under a pergola on the hill or down by the barn/store. Be sure to stop in to the barn for the gift shop, local artists work and other items.
