If I could give negative stars I would. I have been a bookkeeper over 20 years, NEVER have I experienced a worse banking interface & platform. Charging small businesses for QB's interface and limiting the access and capabilities is the most ridiculous thing I have seen. I had 6 clients with People's two remain loyal to M&T, IDK why!

The worst. In 2 years, 3 fraudulent purchases. Incorrect address on file since day one, even with my driver's license as proof. Can't use for online purchases for several, everyday life needs. Can't use account with Venmo. ATM fee with this bank if you use another banks ATM AND the ATM fee you have to pay other banks in general. Sometimes you pay $8 to access your money. There are hardly any branches around here.

When M&T took over People's Bank the transition had a few glitches. I couldn't log on to the accounts. My problem had to be resolved at the bank office. It was a minor inconvenience. I rolled most of the money from the estate accounts into the checking account. From here, I was charged $10 a month in service fees per estate account. That's $220 a year. No interest compounded, rather a service fee to have an estate account. There was, at one point, over $70,000 in the checking account. It made 0% interest there. People's Bank, in fact, did not have these fees, and they paid interest. Not a lot, but they paid. The grand finale were the pages of documents with the terms and conditions of M&T Bank. Roughly 65 pages of fine print created by lawyers and accountants. It was followed up by new terms and conditions in May. 65 more pages. You don't have to read these, only continue to use the online site to agree to the new terms. On a good note, the tellers and bank managers are fantastic people. They are attentive, friendly, and go the extra mile to assist. They are 5 star people. The CFO, CEO, lawyers, and accountants in the high levels of M&T Bank are probably very educated and well paid. But are out of touch with rural New Englanders. Their management style is greedy, offensive, and although legal kind of unethical. So I invested my money elsewhere.

Was a long time customer with this bank with no history of overdrafts and I just recently had been diagnosed with concussion syndrome and had accumulated 5 overdrafts . I was unaware that I had no money in there. In my opinion with my long history of not overdrafting they could of forgave them but no, luckily for me another customer helped me. Goodbye people's United.
