I had them tow my car from my house to their shop the day after my brakes went, came in a week later, paid more than I was originally quoted for the tow and was charged $23 extra for paying with a card? I then went out and my front tire was pancaked with a large piece of metal in the tire. My dad was a mechanic and had been for my whole life +10 years, if my dad had popped a dudes tire they would have gotten a new tire on before the customer even showed up. I was given a plug on a hole that shouldn't have been plugged, not even a patch over the plug. Told people at work about it and was told that's sort of result is common for that shop. I went somewhere else to replace the tire, cannot recommend this place despite the adorable dog that was with the receptionist. Despite that I have to say everyone kept professional throughout

If I could give zero stars I would! I picked up my car Thursday July 31 /2025 after Randy’s had my car for two days. I dropped it off at night on Tuesday 29th to have the clutch looked into. I called the following morning 7/30/25 and was told the car will be ready to go that they had found a broken trans mount. Was going to fix that and look into the clutch. I called again at lunch Wednesday the 30th was again told the car will be ready to do no issues, my roommate left work 2 hours early to make sure I got to Randy’s before they closed. I called when he left work was told yes it will be ready when you get here. Called again before I left the house was assured it was ready, drive all the way into skowhegan to get a phone call as we are pulling in that the car is not ready. And it would be the following morning. Come Thursday the 31st didn’t get any calls at all the car was ready until we called and was told it was. So again left work. Drove to skowhegan to pick up my car. They charged me 571.92$ to helicoil two broken motor mount bolts and to replace/extract the two bolts. A helicoil kit is 30$ at advanced and most part stores! Anyhoo I was told the clutch was fine drive great now. So I paid and left as soon as I got into the car and put it in gear I noticed the clutch was the was same but I left I got 2 blocks away and the issue got worse it started clunking every time you shift
So I called them was told to bring the car back Michael the desk boy. Asked me to take him for a ride so I did he said couldn’t hear anything and it was “driving” so it must be good! I tried to explain to Michael who told me before the ride he dosnt even work on cars. That I have owned 8 of these mk4 VW’s not one of them has felt like this Driving to which I was told well I don’t know what to tell you it driving. I drove it it’s “very fun” so you went out and had fun in my car? And I was completely shot down of my knowledge of these cars and was told why did you bring ur car here to argue with me? No I took it to yall to get fixed. But instead I made it less then a mile with out the same issues! Was over charged for work. Lied to that the car was ready I missed work my roommate missed work! And the cars still not fixed. After I was refunded the $ and told to not come back I made it a half mile down the road before the car became completely undriveable like the trans was gonna fall out of it. It was not like that before they got ahold of it the clutch pedal was just soft. So I had to tow it home yet again! The following day I got the car up on ramps and immediately discover the rubber clutch line that connects to the bleeder valve and the hard line off the body was wet along with the bleeder valve. So after being told they looked into the clutch they clearly did not or would have see it. They fixed my motor mount and took the car for a joy ride and used a quarter of a tank! And cleared my trip odometer that was last reset when I changed the oil. These so called “ mechanics” they have working for them shouldn’t be calling them selfs a mechanic! It’s a disgrace to the entire car community. So after be lied to mutable times, having my car drivin and beat on and broke. And being over changed for work I will never use these quack jobs again! The place has gone to hell since the owners son took over. 0/5 stars never again! Liars theifs and they will destroy ur vehicle and blame it on you and belittle you call you clueless! I provided photos of the leaking/wet clutch line!

Returning back to Waterloo Ontario Canada we had a wheel bearing start to make a noise around Bar Harbour. Got to Randy’s Auto Repair in Skowhegan the next morning and Mike squeezed us in the same day and replaced the bearing preventing additional damage and eliminating our stress. I strongly recommend this place for their competency and customer caring. Excellent Experience ! Robert Wolfe.

Randy’s Auto Repair saved our vacation! We were on our way to Quebec from New York when we noticed a grinding sound from our rear tires. Upon inspection, I noticed the rotor was grooved, figured a brake issue. We happened to be a couple miles from Randy’s so we stopped in. John confirmed that the rear pads and rotors needed to be replaced. They were able to make the repairs in less than 2 hours. John even drove our family to a local restaurant to eat while the repairs were made! Highly recommend their prompt and professional service.

Brought my vehicle in for a front end alignment explained to the staff that the vehicle needed nothing in the front end. It had just been going over it just needed the alignment to be done to put the front end into spec after speaking with one of the staff members there who assured me they would set the toe and, caster angles of the vehicle waited all day when vehicle was done he assured me it was done properly. It was closing time and I was leaving for a trip where I wouldn’t be back for a few days. Had to drive. The vehicle was very unsafe when I stopped to do an oil change , I noticed that the caster bolts were never touched. They had clearly lied about the work they did. Brought to a different alignment shop who gave me the specs to show me how far it was out of adjustment. Stay away from this place. They are a bunch of crooks.

They were able to tune up and repair my 73 spitfire after the prior owner neglected it for over a decade! Amazing folks, and the lil Boston terrier which greets you is the sweetest baby. 10/10!
