OMG these cheese curds have changed my life. Also, not pictured is the ridiculous smoked Gouda we got. Unfortunately now I have to find any reason to end up in Skowhegan…oh, well while we are here let’s grab some cheese! Ridiculous.

Amy was so accommodating and helpful - just a huge thank you to her for that. Ricotta and Feta were so delicious, and the Sammies were a big hit. They carry their own meats and cheeses from their own dairy farm, as well as local producers. But seriously, those Sammies...SO GOOD

What a delightful shop! The space is cozy and inviting. Marsha was assisting customers and couldnt have been more charming and knowledgeable about the goods in the store! She shared a bit of Amy's story and how she became the Queen of Ricotta! Truly a wonderful place that everyone should visit!

This cheese will bring any gathering, even, holiday, celebration, afternoon, morning, evening to the next level. You can taste the pure love and passion it's crafted with in each and every bite. Their selection is available online, yes, but if you have the ability to stop into the store you will not only be purchasing the finest most delicious cheeses, meats, etc. but you will be guided through the process of curating a charcuterie board that blows your taste buds away by a smiling purveyor of all things Crooked Face and their accomplices. So grateful to have this lovely cheese shop in our small town.

The herb smoked butter is a religious experience. When I head to camp this will always be a stop along the way! I will definitely have tried one of everything by the end of 2021. Great job, ladies!!!

If you haven't tried Crooked Face, you are seriously missing out! Owner, Amy, and her sweet little daughter and amazing team of strong, smart women run the brand-new retail shop located in the Maine Grains building in downtown Skowhegan. (Previously, you had to special order from the creamery/farm itself). At the cute new shop, you will find an assortment of cheeses (Crooked Face ricotta, havarti, smoked cheddar, etc.--and also many other speciality cheeses from around Maine), meats (ground beef, steaks, etc.), pastas, and some swag (t-shirts, hoodies). The shop is adorable, and I highly recommend Amy's small-batch ricottas. They are truly to die for!!! Pro tip: The Miller's Table, located right next door, makes woodfired loaves of bread. I recommend smearing some basil pesto and/or garlic rosemary ricotta on that bread with some fresh tomatoes for a great snack.

Every year I make a trip to Skowhegan for the Kneading Conference and every year I spend 360 days dreaming about the ricotta from Crooked Face. This is some of the freshest and finest ricotta you can find.
