The other day, I called on the fly to try and schedule in for a second opinion about my truck steering and suspension, after being told it was fine by another mechanic that I’ve had bad experiences with in the past (I had to go to the other shop for an alignment as they were the closest shop to me) I figured it would take a bit to get me in, as mechanics are rarely free.
I can’t remember his name, but the man working that day asked if I had time to swing by asap. I explained to him that I was heading out of town for a few hours, but that I could rearrange because I was going to go to Portland in the AM and would rather have the truck looked at than not. He asked when I’d be back, and then told me that if I could get back by 4:30p that he could stay late and fit me in. That’s what we did, and he pointed out that my steering was fine, my shocks were not so fine, and that if I continued to have uneven wear in my tires it may be a camber issue (an issue that wouldn’t show on a lift). He rotated my tires for me, and sent me on my way.
I was more than pleased with the whole experience. He even baby talked my dog, which, I don’t know about you, but that’s a major green flag of character for me. My pupper ate that up, too.
I was so excited also to hear that they have an outdoor lift for the summer months, so I will be taking my van there for my mechanic needs in the future.
I would rate them higher if I could. Always a positive experience here.”

“Five stars is not enough if I could give 10 star rating I would I have been buying tires from Skowhegan Tire center for years. I have always had good pricing and excellent service. I recently brought my truck for alignment. I’ve had it to three different shops in the past three weeks for alignments not one would do the alignment properly as I asked, I put it on to be done. We agreed had it fixed within a few hours my truck drives like it was new again.”

“The guys were great, and I stopped in Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. I was getting an oil change before my drive back to Florida, and I had them look some oil I was seeing on the engine. Being from Skowhegan, it is always great to support local.”
“Gave them a call today and they told me that there was no one there and if I wanted to come in: now would be a great time. I was quoted for $106 for mounting and changing my tires over to snow tires. Luckily, I had purchased the lifetime balance and rotation with the brand new all seasons I bought at the beginning of this year. So they then quoted me at $56. In less than 45 minutes: they had my snow tires put on, rotated, and balanced and the total for all of it came to be only $44! That's fantastic! Also the people who work here are very nice. If you're looking for people who want to help everyone here, especially at the skowhegan Walmart: this is the place to go. I was highly impressed.
