The elderly owner was extremely rude to us. We have been coming to the area every summer for more than twenty years, passing by this place every time, and we finally decided to take a look. To make sure they were open, I called the day before and the staff lady on the phone was very professional. When we showed up, we first browsed the books for about 5 minutes, then the staff lady said the owner was ready to show the Asian antique room. We followed them into the room full of Japanese and Chinese items. The owner left the room soon after, and the staff lady remained in the room, telling me about her experience in Taiwan. Being a collector well versed in both cultures, I tried to find items fit for my collection. We were browsing for about 7-8 minutes, and I was particularly interested in some ceramics and a book inside the glass case. I was about to ask for help when the owner walked in and said, “You either buy something or you need to leave!” I was shocked by his remark and did not know how to react but chuckle, to which he responded, “It’s no laughing matter, this is a shop, you either buy or leave! Scoot, scoot!”, motioning us away with hand gestures. My spouse said, “Then it is time for us to go.” and we thanked the staff lady on our way out. I certainly would not return to that shop ever again.

Cool store, prices are high. But liked how the set up is when walking around.

Books are well organized and there were several antiques nestled among them. Somehow, it is beautiful and relaxing. I was just browsing but it was such a unique setting. A gentleman was reading aloud when I entered and I liked that too.

Worst bookstore I've been to. Older rude man at door made sure we used hand sanitizer (good), while wearing his facemask below his nose. Made rude comments on the way out too, glad I never seriously considered buying overpriced books.

This perhaps one of the most extraordinary antiquing experiences we have ever had....this place is a gem! It is a museum of Imari Japanese pottery that is breathtaking and beautifully displayed. Such a treat to have experienced!

Ridiculously overpriced. Looked up every art book I was interested in, including out of print works, while I was in the store, and found every single one at significantly lower prices elsewhere. Found one poetry book at an average price, but I found even that cheaper elsewhere (although shipping would have made it higher). Definitely will not be back.

My experience was the opposite of Joe's and was far closer to David's and the others. The elderly gentleman was warm and friendly to my family and I. His positive attitude set the stage for a great vacation, and my wife kept mentioning she admired the man for keeping busy and sharing the legacy of his travels with the world while going strong at 89.
