I ordered an Amati model ship from Bluejacket that is beautiful but has been incredibly frustrating because, despite Amati's claim that the model is beginner-friendly, the instructions are geared towards people with a lot more modeling experience than I have. I emailed Bluejacket about my experience and was surprised to have their GM, Josh, reach out to me to discuss my concerns and offer support! He suggested some models that are truly designed for beginners, and I'm going to try Bluejacket's Revenue Cutter model next.
Bluejacket is awesome! My boyfriend is an accomplished modeler and is also very impressed with their kits and customer service. I hope we can make it to Maine to see their shop someday.

Regarding THE RC Lobster boat do not attempt this kit unless you are a Master Modeler! Plans are incomplete and instructions are very vague! You are on your own! Most parts have to be made from scratch and a lot of guesswork on your part! I have been modeling for more than 60 years and this is the worst model I have ever attempted. Very expensive and the referenced supplier of additional parts is very arrogant! Most likely everything is headed for the trash except the radio gear I bought.

Very cool shop. A lot of models are on display of ships of different eras. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I was able to order a kit and have it shipped. I would absolutely recommend visiting this place.

While on another trip through the area, I stopped by to see the model ships and other nautical items again. The prices for the completed models are pretty reasonable, considering how much work goes into putting them together.

So many types of ship model kits to choose, dozens of model ships on display. I admire anyone who can assemble these things because it requires a lot of patience. Friendly customer service.
