Worst experience I have ever encountered. Brought my XC90 for an inspection, with the vehicle being only 2 years old it passed without an issues.
After 2 weeks, I noticed that they did not give me a new inspection sticker and my vehicle was now past its due date.
I called in to address the situation, they explained to me that they were booked out a couple of weeks that I would need to go back in for a new inspection. When I brought my car back in the second time, they explained to me that my car had failed as it needed new tires and new brakes.
I explained to them that I had been there a few weeks prior and then my car passed without issue, The person I spoke to looked at my service history and realized I had been there just a few weeks earlier however they said that the miles I had put on since then required several thousands of dollars worth of work.
At that point, my car was past due on its inspection, and they had already torn my sticker, making my car drivable.
I felt that this was the most unethical experience I’ve ever had related to car repair. Being the only Volvo dealership in the region, they fully exploit their monopoly in the area.

Brought my xc90 in to figure out why there was no sound for the blinkers, radio, door chime, or seat belt warning, nothing was chiming or making any sound and was told it needs a software that isn't out yet/available and they didn't know or couldn't tell me when this software would be available. I'm not giving a bad review for the fact that there's no repair that can be done at the moment. what I'm giving a bad review for is due to the terrible experience I had with the service manager, I spoke with her to see if I could get anymore information on what I should do, because well it sucks to spend about 60k on a car and not be able to listen to music or even have notifications for whether my blinker is on or not, so I tried to talk with her to figure out if maybe I could get in a different vehicle by trading mine in, and she just seemed to not want to hear it, everything I said with trying to see if I could just trade My car in was met with her saying the software should be out shortly but shortly was 1 month to a few months, and she just tried brushing off my concerns/issues with my vehicle, so my review is about the fact that the service manager had no interest in trying to work something out and everything I said seemed to go in one ear and out the other and she was just trying to get me to agree with what she was saying to get me out of her hair. If or when this problem gets resolved with my vehicle, I'll most likely trade it in for something other then a volvo, there seems to be alot of pretty ridiculous things that go wrong with these cars and the prices from how much the car cost to the upkeep and on top of a service department that has an attitude with customers makes owning a volvo not worth it at all

Went in for a diagnosis of my ambient air temperature sensor on my 2016 xc90 because it was reading 27 degrees on the hottest days and causing problems with my ac. Waited for two hours for them to tell me that they haven’t figured out the problem and need additional diagnostic time. A quick Google search lead me to figuring out that the sensor has caused numerous problems with other 2016 and up Volvos. I found a genuine Volvo ambient air sensor online for $19 watched a quick YouTube video and installed it and now my temperature is reading correctly with a 4-5 degree variance. They also said I had water leaking into my vehicle the tech found it under front passenger carpet, I checked after all the rain storms we’ve had recently and found no water intrusion. Felt like I was being taken advantage of because I was one of the youngest customers in the waiting room and they must have thought I wouldn’t question the diagnosis. Will never bring my car here for any service, this place is truly a stealership.

First I love my car. It’s fabulous. Except it unlocks itself via the app. It isn’t storing codes. I dropped it at the dealership. They said they’d take it home to monitor and duplicate it. They placed the car in standby and didn’t do the work. The worst part is, they can’t even seem to comprehend why shutting the car off into standby and disabling the app that causes the glitch would make it so they can’t find the issue. I have a car that anybody can let themselves into. This dealership does not care to actually figure out why. I still love the car though. I just can’t leave anything in it so I will have the cleanest vehicle in Portland. At least go to a better service department.

We had a great experience here working with Eric. Walked in wanting to buy a different make from the used inventory but there was such a different vibe here than other dealerships-frankly we did not want to deal with any of the uncomfortable haggling and back and forth of buying a car so we loved that we didn’t feel like we had to here, and we left with a Volvo. Thanks Eric!

When it was time to upgrade my wife's Volvo, we once again started at Portland Volvo, where we were fortunate enough to land Heather as our salesperson. I've purchased many cars over the years, usually accompanied by some type of angst, but because of Heather, I can finally say I had a most pleasant car buying experience, from start to finish. What we most appreciated about working with Heather was the absence of 'pressure and pushiness' as part of our buying experience. Instead, we felt we were in the hands of a sales professional who put our needs before hers, which makes all the difference. Heather was the epitome of helpfulness and patience as we went on many test drives to find just the right Volvo. We finally narrowed down our ride (4 test drives later!!) and set about finalizing our purchase. I braced for the negotiations and 'dickering' that usually occurs at the stage in the car purchasing game, and, again, we were pleasantly surprised at how quickly we reached a deal. On a lark, we asked what they'd give us for a trade-in. Heather came back with a number, and we made what I felt was an 'aggressive' counter-offer. I'm not sure what happened behind closed doors, but our offer was accepted. I feel Heather advocated for us, and we closed the deal. Long story short, we left Portland Volvo that day with our new V-60, and could not be happier with our purchase! Heather suggested we drive the car a while, then come back and see her and she'd help us customize the electronics to maximize our driving experience. Folks, if you're in the market for a new or pre-owned Volvo, we urge you to start with Heather at Portland Volvo. You'll be glad you did! Heather, thank you for making our recent car buying experience so stress-free and pleasant! We appreciate all you did for us!

Heather Neville is a true professional - timely communication, up front and transparent in the entire process, went above and beyond providing videos and making an extra effort, but never pushy, and always took the time to help me, a self-described picky buyer. Anyone looking for a Volvo, new or used, would be lucky to work with Heather.

Test drove a car here. They were friendly and responsive via email and had the car ready when I arrived. It was incredibly clean! I knew pretty quickly on the test drive it wasn't for me and there was 0 pressure when I got back which I so so appreciate! I explained my concerns they mentioned some upgrade possibilities and that was it. No come see my finance guy or wait here's a more expensive one, just a thanks and a handshake. If their inventory peaks my interest, I'd definitely stop by again.

We recently bought a Certified Preowned Volvo from Portland Volvo. We worked with Heather Neville and the customer service was exceptional from the moment I submitted an inquiry. This is my third Volvo (the first two weren’t purchased in Maine) and the best sales experience by far! Heather was so kind and helpful and the whole experience was low pressure. They even kept my four-year-old entertained with matchbox cars and snacks while we went through the purchasing process! We also worked with Zack during the finance process and he was wonderful as well. We’ll definitely be back for our next car purchase!

I went in without any appointment with little time to spend but wanted to get more info and a test drive of an XC 60. Heather was extremely knowledgeable and explained clearly how things worked. She made me comfortable, unrushed and gave me a good idea of what the financing would be without having to consult a higher up. Because of her willingness and understanding, I was able to make the decision to go with Volvo. If I can’t find what I want at a closer to home dealership I will not hesitate to go to Portland Volvo. I may anyways!

My husband and I both purchased cars within weeks of each other in February/March with the friendly and knowledgeable assistance of Heather. There's a little learning curve with all the new technology but with Heather's help we're getting there!

I recently purchased a V60 from Portland Volvo and I can't say enough about my great experience.
Heather Neville was my sales associate and she went above and beyond in her efforts to get me what I wanted. Above and beyond! In the middle of the contract signing I realized that I wanted a different color and she totally rolled with it and found me the car I needed without missing a beat. We have a date a few weeks down the road to talk about the different computer settings which is, again, above and beyond.
The dealership itself was great too. They do pure pricing so I didn't have to negotiate (which was a big plus), were very transparent about all the info I asked for and answered my questions promptly. And the cherry on top - they filled up my tank with gas before I drove away. What kind of dealership does that?!
I will definitely be back!
