I am a huge fan of this veterinary hospital. At first we would go to north street in saco but transferred over to the establishment at 838 portland road. The staff is always, always polite and extremely helpful with any and all my animal needs. Dr. Chadbourn is who we mostly saw for my dog but the other Dr's there are also incredible.I just recently had to put my 15 and a half year old pit bull, Alexus, down. Obviously it was a devastating time for my family. Saco animal hospital took care of literally everything. I was able to sit there with her as long as I needed before and after. I had her cremated so she will always be with me and they sent her out and called me less than a week later to pick up her ashes and paw print that was made.It cost less than I expected and several hundred dollars less than a single emergency visit to Portland veterinary emergency and specialty care. (I wouldn't ever recommend going there even in emergency)I can't say enough how outstanding they are here in Saco. If you're looking for a vet for your furry (or not furry) friends, I absolutely recommend giving them a call.-Samantha C

We had an emergency yesterday with three of our dogs that were ill (one very). Not only did the Clinic squeeze us in, but Dr Giroux took his personal time and stayed to treat our dogs. It’s rare these days to find a team that is not only knowledgeable and professional but fully invested in the care they provide their patients. Thank you all for everything!(Fogo pictured below)

I have met many veterinarians in my career training dogs--first breeding, raising and training police dogs and now (in my semi-retirement) companion & service dogs for clients all over the country. Pierre and his team are the best of the best. They are up on all the latest literature, and if they are unsure of a diagnosis or treatment, they will research the issue or consult with or refer their patients to the best specialists within striking distance. The Greater Swiss Mountain Dog puppy in the picture belongs to a client in SF, CA. Pierre was my first stop for a complete check and continued to care for her until she flew West at 6 mos. old. I can't imagine using another vet or facility.

I brought both of my cats in for teeth cleanings, one of my cats was given zorbium, upon arrival, even though they had no idea how much work she needed done, they had not seen her teeth and had not completed or looked at xrays to assess whether she needed extractions or zorbium. She did not need the zorbium and she was overdosed. She was high for 7 days and I had to watch her like a hawk to make sure she was breathing properly. My cats were not safe in the care of this facility. This was negligence on the part of the vet, and they even charged me for the medication that they were not supposed to give her. I paid $1,946 for both of my cats to have light, routine dental cleanings and my cats were not taken care of in a way that any pet parent would be okay with. Extremely disappointed in the level of negligence at this facility that I've been taking them to for many years. Sad to say I no longer trust that my cats are safe with them.

They have been my dogs vet since I got her. Even after I moved over 40 minutes away I kept my dogs care here because this team is just amazing.

This was my first visit and the experience was great. Very friendly and professional front desk staff, and the docs and vet techs are knowledgeable and caring. My kitty had a stubborn parasite that was diagnosed and treated promptly. All is well in my cat land now and I have another apt with kitty number 2 next month.

I had a great experience bringing my cats here. The girl at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. The vet was also very friendly and great with my cats. 100% recommend this place

Great place to take your beloved pets for all of their healthcare needs. The doctors and staff are very knowledgeable, kind, courteous and thoughtful. My 15 year old cat recently had to undergo major dental surgery. I wouldn't have wanted to entrust her to anyone other than Dr Chadbourne. She talked us through the entire process and stayed in contact throughout the procedure to keep us informed of Hadley's condition. The operation was a great success. My cat and I are very grateful to everyone at AHS.

I have a dog, Una, with serious anxiety and aggression issues that I took in 3 years ago pregnant. I kept one of the pups. I take both dogs here currently, and they really work with me to make Una's visits safe for everyone.
