Tracie wss 25 minutes late to my appointment that I prepaid for. I asked her if she could do all my nails one color except for one on each hand. She told me I was wasting her time and if I was a nail tech I would understand...(but she was late to my appt that I prepaid for. She wasted my time.?♀️.) She was just extremely rude the whole time.Slapping my hand pretty hard over and over. (Not tapping it) I will never go back. If you book online it will ask what you're looking for. Don't bother to fill it out because they don't look at it. She looked at it when I got there and told me she does none of what I wanted. If they had looked at it and got back to me to let me know they don't offer those services . I would of canceled. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE!!

I have been to this salon three or four times. But I won't be going again. While the staff is friendly enough, their training and professional practices are not consistent with those in use at similar salons with similar pricing structure. I waited ten minutes for someone to greet me at my appointment time. Polish color selection, quality of manicure and pedicure products and expected amenities are lacking. Pedicure chairs are uncomfortable. Feet are soaked in plain, tepid water. Base coat and top coat products provided are off brand. Polish removal (gel) is not performed according to best practices (no gentle "soak off", rather polish is aggressively removed using a nail drill and aggressive stripper. After three cycles of mani/pedi services over several months, my originally healthy nails are thin and weak. Manicures are performed on bare, gritty tables with no towels upon which to rest one's hands and wrists. Nails are soaked in plain, barely warm water. (Most modern salons have discontinued this soaking process) the drill and aggressive filing are used to remove polish. Removal products, base and top coat, such as exist, are off-brand. Polish color selection is very limited. Technicians use torn paper towel pieces to cleanse and wipe nails -- no cotton wool or cosmetic squares. No beverages are offered, there is no massage or moisturizing finish offered. Much more like a strip mall "no appointment" salon, Tropical Spa, while located in an attractive building and apparently family owned cuts corners, is merchandised with off brand beauty supplies and cheap jewelry and accessories. Not much attention to quality or style. The impression, despite $100+ cost for a gel Mani/Pedi is of cheap products, abbreviated services and cost cutting. Not for me again.

I rarely write negative reviews but unfortunately I had a terrible experience at Tropical Salon & Spa in August. I made an appointment online and I knew I was running a little bit late. I called the salon multiple times on the way to alert them, but no one picked up. I arrived 5 minutes late to my appointment, and I was immediately met with hostility about being late, even after I explained that I tried to call many times. The woman who did my manicure was rude to me the entire time -- I asked her for her opinion between two colors, and she responded "well one is sparkly and one is matte, I can't give you an opinion". She never looked at me in the eye during the entire appointment and the whole process felt rushed. I've never been treated like this at any salon, ever. I am giving 2 stars because a different woman did my pedicure and she was very nice/did a great job. I'm sure the salon has many wonderful employees (my pedicurist being one of them), but the woman who did my nails was so unprofessional and rude, I will not be returning.Service: Manicure

I booked online for a manipedi for my mom (only her 2nd ever!) MacKenzie was truly the epitome of professional and friendly and really put Mom to ease with her ticklish (kind of gnarly) feet. I would have loved to have joined her but there weren't any other staff present which was disappointing. All in all, the facility is beautiful, clean, comfortable and MacKenzie is a GEM. Thanks for your generous care.?

The best place around for eyelashes, nails and anything else they offer! Tracy and her staff are very professional and I have been going here for years! Tracy is the best around. Makenzee did a great job on my eyelashes last time.

I was sick this am and called many times, starting at 7 am, to let them know and they don’t have a machine. Told me only rang 2 times on their end. On my cell heard 8 times. Didn’t want to reschedule with me, didn’t want to refund my deposit. Very unkind and unprofessional. I wouldn’t waste your money or time going there. Very Disappointed. They do a great job once you get their but not before. People get sick and they should be able exceptions when this happens, especially with Covid still going on. I have been there many times and always pay and tip.

What a difference 10 years makes! I made an appointment online for the "dip nails" service. I failed to indicate that I already had this kind of material on my nails and it needed to be removed. Kevin who helped me was gracious about my error and proceeded. When I was ready for the dipping part, the owner took over. She did a good job and was quick and efficient. Tropical Salon has the same problem so many businesses have, they are short of staff so getting an appointment was terrific. There are few places around this area that offer this specific type of service. (I did book several weeks in advance having learned my lesson a year earlier when I couldn't get an appointment anywhere. I come here seasonally.) My recommendation is plan way in advance and keep your appointment. Read all the online options so you select the exact service you want.

Love this place! Love the environment and the work they do on your nails! Anyone and everyone should go here just once and that’s all it takes you’ll keep going back!

My daughter and I had the pleasure of having a mani & pedi with Katrina.Katrina was patient, knowledgeable and did a great job making my daughter feel pretty special. At a last minute request my daughter asked if she could get her ears pierced and without batting an eye Katrina happily did it and made my daughter feel at ease.We love our nails and did not feel rushed and were well taken care of.We hope to have Katrina again she is a real gem.

The gal I saw friendly and the experience fine. I was unnerved that no one was wearing masks even after the recommendation came back in place. The biggest off-puts were the overall dirty feel, the manicure table had clearly not even been sprayed and wiped down in awhile. Everything felt sticky and visibly grubby, the massage chair was on the fritz and almost broken. And bottom line I’m really unhappy with the gel manicure I got just yesterday. It took 4 coats to get past streaky and now the texture is larfy, bubbled and chipped where the unclean lines adhered to my cuticle. I’ll be searching elsewhere in the future.

This is the best mani/pedi I’ve had on the mid coast. Atmosphere is calm and comforting. Service was quick and on-time. Thank you, Tracie!Services: Manicures
