According to store personnel, EVERY customer who purchases a six pack of beer or any type of spirits whatsoever MUST present a photo I.D. even if the person is over 30 years old, 40 years old, 50 years old ---- every age person. That policy is far more stringent than even the law in Maine. Their policy is ludicrous, insulting and a hassle. I shall take my business to Hannafords from now on.
p.s. I verified their I.D. policy with their corporate phone rep who confirmed what I said above is true.

UNFORTUNATELY have to update my review 4 days later. Previously gave them five stars because I went at 8:30 at night and had great customer service however todays visit was horrible. Need to make today's visit 1 star! When I went into the Rockland location I saw that they were still selling the same POMS from my prior visit that was 4 days ago. They had already expired over a week ago at that time. During check out I told the Bag Boy that they are Beyond expired and need to be removed from the Shelf. I went in today the same ones were for sale when I picked them up they were full of mold so I asked for a manager. I had some young gentleman say he's the manager but he's on a day off and not willing to assist me and he will find somebody to assist me. A lady came out and was not that friendly and when I explained the situation her and another employee acted like I had bothered them. These products I am hoping nobody bought because they will be extremely ill if they eat these. Literally FULL of MOLD. Too many employees standing around and unwilling to assist.

Shaws Pharmacy should be renamed to Shaws Grocery. Being from out of town, and in search of “pharmacy” items, this was a natural choice, however what we encountered was a grocery store with a bit of pharmacy items, and NOT what we needed.

Why did the price of beef suet- for the birds- increase to $3.99 a pound overnight? It doubled in price. There is beef or chicken for human consumption less expensive than that! Songbirds need suet to help them stay warm these freezing days.
