3hrs after pickup I was told my drop off location wasn't "accepting them any longer" and would be called for pickup. Then got a spam email telling me I needed to drive over an hour away for drop off 42+ miles! Three more hours if my time on the phone, 4 different employees, all to be told "too bad, we ll just report it stolen". Uhaul is the worst. I'm not so poor college kid moving back home. Thankfully I used my Amex Platinum for payment and contract, which clearly showed where I was to drop it. I will be sharing this feedback EVERYWHERE

Nothing needed improvement from what i could tell, it was an easy, painless process. The other customers were kindOf a pain, but the guy at the counter handled them well.

The lady behind the counter was rude and dismissive and acted like I wasn't in the store when I was standing in front of her with a question. Maybe some customer service training might be good for y'all.

In fairness to the staff, I would most likely be grumpy and not very helpful if I worked for a company that seems to two underpaid guys is enough to run an entire outfit, and created a checkout process that requires half an hour and the patience of a saint to complete. I went to pickup a truck I had reserved online, completed all the steps, then had to go do jumping jacks to get somebody's attention and grab the key. After getting the key, I discovered the truck was blocked in by two other UHaul trucks. Another 20 minutes of searching for somebody to help me, I found a guy who begrudgingly went and moved the truck for me. Finally, 45 minutes after I arrived, I was able to get on my way.

Lot's to improve on. Gave us a vehicle with a broken transmission. Stuck for 5 hours in Delaware before we could get a tow and ended up being stuck the night. We had to get movers to unload and reload the new truck. Don't trust this location or Uhaul ever again.

When I arrived at your counter this evening, the employee at the register was in the process of being extremely rude to a non-native English-speaking couple who needed some support understanding the very complex checkout process. Despite the couple's clear and earnest efforts to understand the employee, the employee was nonetheless rude, terse, and dismissive, sighing loudly and eye-rolling.When they left and I walked up to go next, I was given one-word answers and one-word questions or statements. The employee would not make eye contact and made no effort whatsoever to engage with me.I was directed by a thumb jerk to meet an attendant in the lot. There, I was instructed by the attendant to assist with hooking up the equipment, something I was not aware would be part of my customer responsibility. Had I been unable to assist, I had the strong impression the attendant would have been unable to do it alone and I would not have been able to rent the trailer.I then discovered the trailer that was now connected to my car was being used as a campsite and was full of belongings, and camping equipment, and smelled powerfully of stale urine.I returned to the desk to explain that I would not be renting that particular equipment and would like another trailer instead. The employee maligned the attendant to me and then berated the lot attendant through the radio. I was then dismissed with a literal grunt to return to the lot.I backed up to the new trailer and began my equipment check, this time before the trailer was attached. As I completed the mobile confirmation questions and approved photos, I heard the lot attendant ask in an angry and loud voice from behind the trailer, "What are you doing?! Do you want the trailer or not?! You need to help me!"Again, I was not aware this was my responsibility nor did I have any indication verbal or otherwise from the attendant that he was waiting for me or that I was preventing the rental from continuing.I was then instructed to locate the plug for my trailer lights and plug the cable in. I did so, again unaware this would be required. Thirty-five minutes after arriving, I was now on my way.I note that you already have numerous two and one-star reviews on Google and on your site to the effect that my experience this evening is the typical transaction experience for your customers.Perhaps it is time you do something about it. As you well know, there is no excuse whatsoever to expect to be treated in that manner, especially given the discovery I made in the first trailer.

Awful customer service. Made an online self pick up reservation. Got to the store and checked in but the reservation was not loading for 20 minutes. I went to the storefront for help troubleshooting because they were still open for another 5 minutes and as I was walking up the manager saw me coming and rushed over over to the door and locked it right as I got there. I knocked but he refused to even turn around. Worst customer service I have every experienced. Do not recommend this location, and based on the reviews others seem to agree. U-Haul - if you want more business and I better reputation in this community, I recommend you fire this manager. We will be using other rental services on the future.

The staff at the Marginal Way location in Portland Maine did an excellent job handling our every need. They were considerate and helpful in all regards, and we were very happy with our van rental. We will definitely use U-Haul again and happy to recommend this location.

The staff at the marginal way location were horrendous. Let me rephrase; the one staff member that my wife and I dealt with was horrendous. I can't recall his name but he was so rude and unhelpful. We had booked our U-Haul rental for the 24/7 truck share so we could pick it up before the location opened but of course, as we got there early in the morning we were told by the app that the site forgot to set up our reservation so we had to wait 2 hours until they opened. When it finally opened the guy was rude and dismissive about the issue of not having the truck ready for our pickup two hours earlier and then just kept saying it wasn't his problem. I wish I had looked for or asked for his name as I've actually never had an issue with anyone from U-Haul in the past but he couldn't have been more flippant or helpful. Fast forward two days later and we are dropping the rental back off for return and I guess we "lucked out" because who would have guessed, our old pal was the one that "assisted" us in our return. The whole time we were dealing with it, he was chatting with some friends and on his phone being dismissive when we had questions. Regardless, this was the worst experience I've ever had with U-Haul. It cost us $260 in client pay by being delayed 2 hours for our rental pickup and the one particular staff treated us horrendously. I would recommend if possible you rent from a different U-Haul location or a different company if you need to rent within the area.

Employees seemed mad to assist, truck was in disrepair and parked in a way that I could barely get it out. I mentioned the brakes and steering were bad to an employee, he turned his back on me. Never again, I'll drive to Saco location next time, they treat their customers correctly.

Tried to get propane tank filled. No one would wait on me. Rang bell. People walked by and said someone would be there. Nothing. After 20 minutes I left. No one likes to waste time like that!

Many many people in line with one person working. Windshield inside was dirty/foggy/smeared. Homeless encampment very close nearby makes me feel unsafe using this U-Haul location. Have used this location for the past 3 years but I’ll go elsewhere for future rentals.

We were more than double charged and lost over an hour and a half of the 8hrs we had rented the truck for trying to get rid of the unbearable scent of old shellfish that was inside the bed of the truck. Had to use Teo cans of Fabreze to get rid of it. Absolutely unacceptable.
