We could not have asked for better photographers than Shado & Isabelle! From the very first phone call we knew we wanted them to be a part of our wedding. Their style of photography was exactly what we wanted for our Maine island wedding. Shado and Isabelle do such an amazing job of getting to know you as a couple and making your big day as effortless and amazing as possible. Having the engagement photoshoot included in the wedding package was a huge benefit as well. Looking through our photos, we are so thrilled with not only the incredible photos of us as newlyweds, but of our family and friends. They captured the feelings and emotions of the day so perfectly. Shado and Isabelle as truly 5 star and an absolute pleasure to work with.

We had the pleasure of working with Shado and Isabelle from Shado of a Rose for our wedding in Bar Harbor and our complementary engagement session, and we couldn't be happier with our experiences. The preparation process is painless, and both Shado and Isabelle communicate well and worked with us on our vision. From start to finish, they made our wedding day feel seamless, despite the usual wedding mishaps. Having two photographers was amazing—Shado captured the morning with my husband, while Isabelle spent time with me. Their energy is incredible, and it is clear that they work hard to make their brides and grooms feel comfortable and at ease. As the day progressed, they joined together to really capture the emotions we felt that we could never quite put into words.
We're obsessed with all the pictures from both our engagement shoot and our wedding. They truly captured the essence of our special day, and our wedding wouldn't have been the same without them. Our guests couldn't stop raving about how wonderful they were, too.
Shado and Isabelle are not only a beautiful couple but also incredibly kind and talented. We can't imagine celebrating future milestones without them by our side, capturing memories we'll cherish forever. Thank you, Shado and Isabelle, for making our day unforgettable!

My entire family was so impressed! Isabelle came so prepared and knew everyone’s name from my 92 year old grandmother to my 5 month old nephew. She knew how to handle a big group including kids. The photos are phenomenal and we are so grateful we found her to do our family photos!

Shado and Isabelle shot our wedding at Sweet Pea's Cafe in Bar Harbor ME on 5/19/2024. The two of them were punctual, extraordinarily professional, hilarious, and an absolute pleasure to work with.
From the initial consultation we had with them, it was clear that they were on top of their game. We had an hour long conversation about what we were looking for, how the day would go, and what photos might be important to us - Shado and Isa brought up many great details and considerations we might have overlooked otherwise.
Next was a detailed questionnaire regarding the day and the photos we wanted. Being able to check boxes for specific photo types and being prompted to think about exactly what groupings of photos we wanted was extremely helpful.
Finally comes the day of - the two of them showed up to the getting-ready locations on time and ready to go, bringing a relaxed but professional air which made it feel easy and comfortable to be photographed. It didn't feel intrusive at all to have them in our spaces as we got prepared. During the ceremony they were somehow everywhere while being very unobtrusive, it was amazing to look through the photos afterward and see all of the great captures (and wonder how they could have been in 10 places at once!).
One of the best parts - we have NEVER seen or been a part of a smoother family/group/couples photos operation right after the ceremony. With Shado shooting and Isabelle directing (she knew everyone's names, never a single 'hey you' and had a detailed shots list based on the questionnaire we had filled out in hand), it was quick and painless. Isabelle handled Maddie's distractable father starting to wander off with tact and humor, and everyone was off to cocktail hour quickly. Couples photos were similarly smooth and enjoyable, and then the two of them wandered and captured many wonderful photos of venue, dinner, and dancing.
We got our photos back in 6 weeks and were stunned! They really captured the setting, the people, and the vibe beautifully. Could not be happier with how they all came out, and as an added bonus, the photos were grouped by category (girls getting ready, guys getting ready, wedding parties, couples portraits, etc), avoiding one huge folder with thousands of photos to go through. We had a great time slowly going through one section at a time and reliving our day.
11/10 experience with these two. You'll be psyched to have them on your team--they helped to make our day easy and smooth, added to the joy, and provided us with photos that were better than we could've hoped for.

Shado and Isabelle were a joy to work with for our engagement photos. They made the trip all the way out to Star Island, NH (not the easiest place to get to!) without hesitation. We had an hour and 15 minutes to work with due to the ferry schedule and we didn’t feel rushed at all. We hit all the spots we wanted to plus a few more. They were immediately warm and friendly and made us feel at ease. The dynamic between the two of them is fantastic and they gave us such great instructions. We could not have had a better experience. We absolutely adore the shots they got and will cherish them forever!

I can’t say enough good things about these two. From day one I felt connected and on the same page as Isabelle. Unfortunately we did not get to have our big day due to unforeseen circumstances, but these two went above and beyond to show their support and be caring towards us during a very hard time. I mean it when I say the care that they will give you is very rare, and should be treasured. Our next family vacation will be to Maine simply to work with them. Thank you Isabelle and Shado!

I can’t recommend Isabelle and Shado enough for elopement photography. From our first consultation, I felt like they truly cared about our vision and capturing our unique wedding. My wife and I got married at a scenic overlook that was a little complicated to get to, but Isabelle and Shado stayed flexible and everything worked out perfectly. The two of them were a dynamic duo, and captured our special moments from all angles. We will cherish these photos, and I’m so glad they’ll adorn our walls for the rest of our lives as a reminder of this day. One shot of my wedding dress looks like it belongs in Vogue.
Isabelle and Shado’s passion for photography shone through all of their work. Even though we were a bit over time after our ceremony and portrait shots, they spotted a field of gorgeous lupines nearby and offered to take photos there, too. Those shots ended up being our favorites. Definitely work with Isabelle and Shado if you want photographers that do their job with love and care.

I swear, I will be gushing about these two photographers till the day I die. They were so amazing to watch work at my friends' wedding. You could tell they love what they do and wanted to get the best photos for the couple. When time was running out, they didn't care because they saw a beautiful field that would've produced the best pics and wanted to capture it. They were also super professional and went with the flow as needed. I would recommend these photographers for any Maine wedding or other photography needs.
BONUS: They're super LGBT+ friendly!

It is difficult to know where to start when writing a review for Shado and Isabelle, because they are simply the best photographers to work with! From our first contact with them, my now husband and I were looking forward to working with them. Their rates are very reasonable, their communication skills are excellent, and they deliver gorgeous photos within a super quick timeline. Their photos are so warm and natural. They seem to capture a human essence in a world of overly filtered and edited shots. My partner and I are both quite introverted, and we were not looking forward to being in front of the camera. I felt they listened to our concerns and were reassuring, and we felt like we had a great team with our photographers. It felt great to feel confident and relaxed during the whole process.
Shado and Isabelle initially met with us on the phone to do a vibe check and see if our goals matched their style and approach. When we decided to move forward, we then scheduled our engagement session. It was a good way to get to know them and feel more comfortable. Shado ended up having a schedule conflict, and communicated with plenty of notice to allow us to change the date if needed. While we missed having him there, Isabelle was amazing to work with. The weather ended up being wild and rainy, and she stayed in excellent communication with us in case we needed to change the plan. We decided to go for it, and ended up having a really fun time. The photos captured my vision perfectly and then some. We are thrilled with how they came out. As the wedding approached, they emailed a detailed form that allowed us to describe what shots and family/friend portraits were important to us. We met again on a video call to go over any questions and to finalize the schedule. I even got a lovely text from Isabelle the day before the wedding to check in and send good energy our way.
As for the wedding itself, many guests have commented on how fun and vibrant Shado and Isabelle were at the event. They were very professional, but also blended right into the party and felt like invited friends. They were able to organize a rowdy group for portraits, and kept everyone on schedule and organized. When my partner and I felt a little overwhelmed during the cocktail hour, they instantly pivoted and took us to a private area to get more photos of us. It allowed us to catch our breath and return to the party with renewed energy. We also were blessed to have good lighting for sunset shots, and they helped us sneak away to quickly grab some before the party kicked off. It felt wonderful to feel 100% confident in their talent and skill, and my partner and I felt supported from start to finish.

Isa and Shado are such a joy to work with! They have captured the most precious and meaningful moments of our story! From a scenic engagement shoot, to our wedding day, and more recently a maternity shoot! They are true artists. They take your inspiration and run with it! If you are reading this, look no further you’ve found your photographers for your next event! We were very lucky to work with Shado and Isabelle for our wedding and engagement shoot. We couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out. The pictures came out beautifully and we will cherish them forever. Shado & Isabelle are professional, detail-oriented, organized, personable and fun. They brought great energy to our wedding and all of our guests commented on how great they were as well. Our favorite part though was they really truly cared about prioritizing how special this day was for us. We didn’t feel like just another wedding they had to shoot. They brought so much excitement and enthusiasm to the work they did and made us feel special.
