Great farmer’s market with tons to choose from. I suggest parking further than closer to the market, regardless of what the parking situation looks like. Went today, 9/2/23 parked with all the others, as we are from out of state, and are unaware of the parking and we were greeted with a ticket by the City of Portland. Poor signage by the city for where parking was not permitted caused for tons of money to be given to the city so hopefully they can get better signage throughout the city.

Just look at that gorgeous haul from today's farmers' market here in Portland! Cute tiny tomatoes and big juicy ones of different colors and varieties; eggplants; cabbage; garlic and shallots, and something called torpedo onions; tons of peppers, both to eat raw in salads and cook with (check out those purple ones!); super-fresh summer corn; herbs and flowers; dill pickles. I also snagged some blueberries and radish microgreens. I'll be eating verrrryyyyy well for the next several days, that's for sure. While you'll find a larger selection at the bigger Saturday market, when it's peak produce season like it is now the tables will be overflowing with goodness on Wednesdays, too. And it's just a bit mellower, and always easy to find a place to park. All of the vendors are happy to talk with you about what they're selling and I enjoy that as much as everything I bring home! Practicalities: bring cash, because even though several vendors do take cards, not all of them do and there's usually a $10 minimum. Plus, cash enables you to spend a few bucks at several different tables if you want to (I mean, why not try a tomato or two from each?). And bring your tote bags to load up, to save on having to use any plastic or paper (which most vendors do have in some form). Most of all, just enjoy strolling through the park and seeing all the bounty on offer, and know you're supporting Maine farmers by buying local.

Spent a lovely morning walking along the path perusing the artisan stalls and the gorgeous-looking plants and other goodies. Very family friendly, lots of well-trained dogs walking with them. If you're around on a Saturday, it's a great activity to start your day.

As a visitor of Portland, Maine, I can confidently say that it is one of the most charming and beautiful cities in the United States. Located on the coast of Maine, Portland is known for its stunning views of the ocean, historic architecture, and vibrant culture. The city has a rich history that dates back to the 17th century, and it has played an important role in shaping the cultural and economic landscape of the region.Portland has something for everyone, from foodies to outdoor enthusiasts. The city is famous for its fresh seafood, craft beer, and locally sourced ingredients, making it a culinary destination for food lovers. Additionally, Portland is home to numerous parks, beaches, and hiking trails, offering endless opportunities for outdoor adventure. Whether you want to explore the historic Old Port district, take a stroll along the Eastern Promenade, or visit one of the many art galleries and museums, there is no shortage of things to see and do in Portland. What I find particularly impressive about Portland is its strong sense of community and commitment to sustainability. The city has a thriving local economy, with a strong focus on supporting small businesses and promoting sustainable practices. From the numerous farmers' markets to the bike-sharing program, Portland is a city that values sustainability and environmental responsibility. As a visitor, I feel inspired and uplifted by the sense of community and dedication to sustainability that I see in Portland, and I can't wait to come back and explore more of this wonderful city.

Get the fresh baked bread!!! What are you even doing if you are not buying their home made $5 bread loaves? That’s barely more than Trader Joe’s and theirs is assembly line nonsense. $5 is a pretty good price for crazy good bread. You will regret nothing. Even other things in life - those regrets will fade away when you bite this bread. Trust. Also, beet bundles for $3.50. That’s like ~30% of the Trader’s price, which was previously the cheapest I’d found anywhere. These are heirloom crazy beautiful beets. Also cardamom blueberry jam, amaretto cherry jam, and peach bourbon jam. Those are spendier at $8-9/9 oz as of this weekend, but think about what it takes to grow a fruit tree then make some booze, then make some jam with those things combined, and design & print a cute little label, and a decorative bottle, and load and haul it in a truck to a pop up stand in the middle of Portland — and now pause from these calculations & eat some, if the fates allow —and you will start to see the light, I think, if economics permit such exquisite decadence. Jam lasts awhile. Skip a single Starbucks run or fast food run and you’re already in the same bracket in terms of cost. But really, the bread dudes are cool. We saw them up in Damariscotta later that same day & they hollered. ? Then we got back home & ate the bread with said jam and have now doubled down on this being the best bread source.

Be sure to get here early as they tend to sell out of items you may want 1-2 hours prior to closing. Most of the vendors are friendly & helpful.

Fabulous farmer's market every Wednesday and Saturday! You can find seedlings, fresh produce, fresh cut flowers, and baked goods for sale. I always leave with something delicious! Parking can be tricky, so I recommend going on the earlier side to guarantee easy parking.

Quality farmers market. The produce is fantastic. The quality of the crafts leave a little wanting. The wading pool and public piano are tons of fun for the kids.
