When I set out to build my dream home in northern Maine I knew I wanted a high performance home that utilized triple pane windows and doors. I turned to Performance Building Supply for all of the windows and doors in my home including two large 50 square foot glass triple pane windows. Steve priced two window types (double and triple pane uPVC) and worked with me to put together a package of windows and doors that were within my budget. I was delighted when the order arrived to my building site early and in-tact. Unfortunately, after the windows were installed, I discovered that one of them had a non-structural crack in the frame. When I notified Performance Building Supply about the issue, they did not hesitate to offer to replace the frame.Steve and Zak came to my building site with the new frame, carefully removed the 400lb triple pane glass from the old cracked frame, worked with my builder to set the new frame in the opening and ensure it was properly flashed, and then set the 400lb triple pane glass back into the opening. It has now been a couple years since the house was built and Performance Building Supply continues to be available for questions and parts. Recently a friend exerted a little too much force on one of my door handles and cracked the plastic trim. I called-up Performance Building and Steve worked diligently to find a matching handle which he then gave to me free of charge! Performance Building Supply is a partner who will be there both during your construction project and many years thereafter. I have recommended them to several friends and look forward to partnering with them on another project in the near future.

I was very impressed with Performance Building Supply. Steve responded to my inquiries quickly and was extremely helpful from start to finish. He gave great personalized attention that we didn't find elsewhere. Would definitely use Performance Building Supply again!

I ordered Siga tapes from their sister website, sigatapes.com. One of the boxes was missing a roll and upon hearing that they immediately sent a roll out to me. Great customer service! It helps that they have the best prices on Siga products too!

We ordered Intus windows from Performance Building Supply based on the recommendation of our architect. When two of our windows came in without the simulated divided light option ordered, Performance suggested a fix that would look just the same. The fix was not at all the same, involving a paste on exterior and interior mullein that looked nothing like what was ordered. They have refused to answer all calls and emails concerning our dismay with the error in fulfilling the order and we had to go to the Virginia office to stake a claim. The cost to make it conform to our original order is ours alone to bear and Performance has not helped us in any way. In fact, the Virginia office offered us $2,000.00 to accept this substandard fix which we rejected. Performance never offered the same. We are very disapointed in a business that is only too happy to take our money but does not want to be bothered to help their customers. STAY AWAY!!

We bought a house full of Intus windows. The windows are unbelievable good. The screens, however, turned out to be a poor fit. Without going into great detail about the problems encountered solving this problem, I want to take my hat off to Performance Building Supply as they stuck with it and provided us with a great final solution. Its easy to satisfy customers when everything goes well but only the real professionals satisfy customers when the going gets tough. Great job guys. Thank you for all of the support and service.

Steve and the crew at PBS have a vast knowledge of the latest building techniques for energy efficiency. I've been in many times over the past 5 years and they always answer any questions I have and up the ante with new approaches I should consider. Amazing store with great products. Highly recommended for builders and home owners alike.
