went for my sons wedding & reception. The facility was very good for this venue. A number of small things could add greatly to the overall site & structure. Does not have an appealing Entrance at all . A glass entrance door an some paint would help for starters. The rear patio area is really nice. It was a shame it was drizzle just enough to force so many things not being able to use one of the best parts of why they picked this site. Even if it was extra, having a canopy or tent available would have avoided so much moving around of everything from start to finish. Felt bad for the couple an 90 people there. They had to do so much work to make the interior so beautiful, then move - move- an move again. Just saying.Think about it.........

My son and daughter- in- law chose O'Maine Studios as the venue for their wedding weekend in June 2023. The space is incredible with the different areas as options for specific parts of the wedding or reception. Unfortunately, it also was dirty and greasy. Some examples:All the countertops were greasy and most of the available cookware and dishes were greasy, stained (that elbow grease removed) and/or had food remains on them. The vent in the room we had the rehearsal dinner in had thick black dust (maybe mold?) on it and the wall of windows were dirty inside and out.I had to ask an employee to pick food out of one of the trash cans, whose bottom was covered in black mold, before I could replace the trash bag.I emailed a more detailed list to Mr. Strunk and the venue and did get a response from Alexis that said "We will have a team meeting this week to discuss what we can do better with your review and revamp our in-house check list." I hope they do.Most of my concerns would not take a lot of time, money, or elbow grease to correct if they were completed on a regular basis. It seems as if there is no list of cleaning in preparation for an event. If there is, it isn't very comprehensive and/or the person responsible did not complete it. It wasn't until after the event that we saw the review of the venue that said a couple's meal was late because the caterers spent an hour cleaning the kitchen before beginning work. I want a venue with the same standards that that caterer had. This space is very cool, but the client should spend their time enjoying the event and not cleaning.

I've photographed several weddings at O'Maine Studios and it's such a special venue! I love that it has an industrial feel that couples can make their own. It's also such a treat to be able to be downtown in Portland and get creative with photo spots around the venue. Highly recommend for anyone who is looking for a unique and fun downtown wedding venue!

As a current tenant near 54 Danforth, I am not opposed to celebrating birthday and wedding reception events. However, to have this happen across the street, in an area where it’s populated by people who live and work, having this building here is an awful idea. Many of us work 4 and 5 am shifts at a hospital; we do not appreciate drunk, screaming, and obscenity happening right across the street. It’s been happening for years. They need to relocate.

Nice local production studio for filming cooking, lifestyle or other segments for TV if you live in Maine and aren't close to any other studios.

We (my husband and I) would very highly recommend O’Maine Studios to anyone looking for a venue in Portland with a warm, industrial vibe. We got married there in November, on a chilly, sunny day. O’Maine is beautiful, hip, modern, and rustic but with a lot of character. It fit our vibe completely and had a very warm aesthetic inside that balanced out the chilly November temperatures. We rented the entire venue for the whole weekend, which made it super easy to do our rehearsal dinner right there Friday night. We were also able to load a bunch of our wedding items and decorations in during the day on Friday so that Saturday was not too hectic for us or our coordinators! We also hosted a casual breakfast for our friends and family on the morning after the wedding, which gave us more time to spend with them without having to rent another venue for this type of gathering.Ian and Rory were extremely easy-going and fun to work with. We had lots of questions leading up to our day, and they were responsive. They were kind enough to let us know of a wedding happening in the Fall months (about a year before our scheduled date) so that we could see the space completely outfitted for a Fall wedding. They were also flexible and accommodating - Ian was there whenever we needed him. We had some elements from the reception and ceremony that needed to be dropped off earlier than when we booked the space and they were accommodating. Even though we had full control of the venue throughout the weekend, Ian always made sure everything was locked up and secured at the end of the evening on Friday & Saturday, which gave us extra peace of mind. The space is just beautiful! The farm tables we rented from O’Maine were beautiful and we received so many compliments on them. There are lights made of driftwood and string lights that had many of our guests asking where they could purchase lights like that. The spaces that comprise O’Maine flow into each other nicely, but also break up the space, allowing you to completely utilize the full venue. We used the beautiful backyard/patio area for our ceremony. We used the largest space for dancing, dinner, the bar, and guest & head tables. Then, we used the kitchen area for our caterer to set up and serve the buffet dinner and desserts. We also used the Gathering Room, a beautiful room in the back area, as a gathering space for our wedding party. This space was perfect to take a breather from the reception and also to store important items that the wedding party needed. We were looking for something that had an industrial vibe and came with lots of character, but that we could also infuse our own style into it. We found that and more at O’Maine Studios!

Harvest on the Harbor food fest there. Come when they open as some ran out of food. 2 THUMBS UP for Black Tie Catering. Shipyard' s tea infused beer was excellent. Kind of disappointed in the wine - FROM CALIFORNIA. We're in MAINE Toto!!

There were parking issues in the lot next to them, but they couldn't even be bothered to return an email.
