I bought an earring set for close to $500 after Tax (very similar to the picture shown below). The one shown below is from another jewelry store, also 10K yellow gold, slightly heavier than the one I got from MPJ, but the price is like 40% of MPJ earring price. After I purchased from MPJ, I found the pins are very short, you have to have very thin ear lobe to wear them securely. If you have thick ear lobe, the butterfly clips will not snap on the pins. So I went back to ask if they can swap the pins to longer ones. Nope. it’s like additional ~$200 fee to do the work. So, for a pair of 10k gold earring, it would be like $700. I know the gold price is up, for a pair of 10k gold earrings merely weighs 3g, $700? Seriously? (BTW, I am a repeat customer of MPJ. They do have unique pieces though)
I may keep the earrings and have my own jeweler fix it for much less MPJ charged. BTW, the earrings are not Antique. I can find shorter version of the same earring design for $120 on other websites. The one shown on picture I posted is the exact same length I got from MPJ, price is $195 from the other jeweler. But I happen to like the long version I got from MPJ. So, I guess I pay premium for it.

Not very impressed. Drove far as I need a watch repair. Website states they offer various services and repairs for watches. Upon walking in I was greeted with “we can only change a battery”. They should update their website as many others rely on this information.

For clarity, upon entering the store I presented the watch and asked if a crystal replacement was possible and was told, “we do not repair watches”, NOT, “we do not repair watches on site, but we offer an off site repair service”. The opportunity was there to explain it when I originally inquired “if you don’t do watch repair, why does it state this on your website”? Had someone explained that they could intake my watch for repair, I would have certainly given them my business. Unfortunately though, I was told by one employee quote “we do not do watch repairs, and we can only replace a battery.” While another told me to “take your watch to springers.” If you intend to offer watch services off site, my recommendation would be to explain that first instead of telling me you can only change a battery or to take my watch elsewhere. Perhaps educating your employees on the process would help as the employee I spoke with acted as if she was unaware of this “off site” repair service. For any potential customers reading this, save yourself the headache and avoid this jeweler for your watch needs.

Market Square Jewelers is literally a gem. I wanted a pinky signet ring with a custom bee engraving. Milena helped me pick out a lovely 10k gold ring, and she advised me on engraving styles. I brought in some images and their engraver Adam provided a mock up. I love the end result. The detail and design is exquisite. It's exactly what I wanted: a unique heirloom quality ring with a one of the kind insignia. What a great place and really great people to work with. I will definitely go back again.

My dream has always been to get an antique ring - especially a Victorian era ring. I live in Iowa, so the only jewelry options I have are from Kay, Jared’s, etc. — AKA not what I have been looking for. Since I had to come to Portland for work, I researched ahead of time to see if there were any antique/vintage jewelers in the area. Market Square immediately caught my eye, so I added it to my list of places to visit. Walking up to the shop, I was greeted with the most gorgeous selection of rings, pendants, etc., in the windows. Then, I walked into the shop and was mesmerized by hundreds of little treasures tucked neatly into glass cases. I knew I had finally found what I had been searching for. From there, one of the employees, Milena, took special care to understand what I was looking for and passing along her expertise until we found the perfect ring for me. Since I was only going to be in town for two weeks, I was worried about the ring sizing timeline, but Milena assured me that it would be done before I left. Incredibly enough, it was done in about a week! Also, I might have gone to the shop a couple more times to pick up some other things…..I couldn’t resist! I’m just now starting to invest in my jewelry collection, so Milena was able to help me set up my starting pieces that will last for generations. They are the most beautiful gold chains and pendants that work amazing together or just on their own. Milena takes the time to understand your style, so all of my new pieces were from her suggestions. Thank you Milena and Market Square for truly giving me the best experience! I will be able to cherish these memories every time I wear my pieces from you ☺️
