Delightful little bookstore with a variety of genres. There's a great children's section and also a staff suggestions section to help you find your next read.

Friendly, thoughtfully curated, family-run bookstore in North Deering. Karen and Katherine are always warm and welcoming. The selection of books and gifts is surprisingly diverse for such a cozy store footprint. Convenient location and parking is super easy.

I've been going here for years since I moved in just down the street. I love this place so much, the owners are incredibly sweet and clearly love what they do. They make great recommendations and they always love to hear feedback from customers. I honestly do most of my Christmas shopping there every year. And my absolute favourite is when they do date with a book. You can get so many books for so cheap, and it's always a fun surprise to see what you get! I've never been disappointed.

Letterpress is our family's go-to bookstore and it is truly a neighborhood bookstore. The staff is unfailingly warm and well-read. We spend a lot of time in the children's section, where the books always feel carefully curated, and we have wonderful luck discovering new titles there. Happy 9th Anniversary, Letterpress! Here's to 9 more and counting!

What an absolute gem! It doesn't look like much from the outside, as it's in a little strip mall, but I loved their selection and the owner was friendly and personally pressed several books into my hands, without being pushy. It was an absolute delight and my favorite bookstore in the Northeast, hands down.

Great place and very helpful service. The woman with whom I dealt even mailed the gift certificate I bought!

Amazing local bookstore with the friendliest staff. Excellent recommendations and they will order whatever you need/want. Although it is a small store, it is by far my favorite go to for books. I would rather support my local bookstore than order from multinational corporations. Highly recommend for all your literary needs.

Fantastic local bookstore. Lots to choose from and a welcoming atmosphere. 10/10 would spend too much money here again.

Don't be thrown by the location - this is a neighborhood gem. We went in right before closing with two energetic kids. The staff could not have been more kind or helpful. They took time to get down to the physical level of my four year old, asking him what he liked and helped give us recommendations for his first chapter books. The diverse books and Maine authors featured made me really happy and although the shop is small, there was quite a wide variety. They also made it very easy to order anything they didn't have in stock. We will definitely be repeat customers!

What a magical gem Letterpress is! Every time I go into this family-run bookstore I end up leaving with all sorts of treasures, more than I came in for! The selection of books (especially the children's literature) is varied and exciting: a great mix of classics, regional-themed books, the newest and best, and works that challenge and broaden your horizons. And the shop itself is so cozy and welcoming with the warmest staff you could possibly have. Long live bookstores and long live Letterpress!!

Policies like yours concerning the mask are the reason little small businesses are closing for good. You wouldn't let me spend my money without a mask, as a result, Books A Million just got $80 from me. The mask is no longer a requirement of the dictator in Augusta. That being said, love to see you go out of business.

Visiting Portland, one of my planned stops was at Letterpress Books Inc. Inside, I was greeted by the owner. She was very friendly. The shop had a sizable Fiction section as well as a good-sized Children’s section. I also saw good selections of books about Maine and books by Maine authors. On the tops of two shelving units, I saw wooden instruments. I inquired about them. The owner’s brother had made them by hand. One was a hurdy-gurdy. I rate Letterpress Books Inc. at 5.0 and highly recommend a visit. If you found this review helpful, please click THANK below.

Have been very happy with this little store just a short mile walk from our home. During COOVD times, my virtual book club made a pact to only order books through a local small shop, and I’m lucky to have Letterpress as my home base. My kids know when they go with me to pick up a new book, they will most likely leave with one of their own. Karen is always happy to help me find the books that I need in the shop or order them when they aren’t on the shelves, which normally takes less than a week. Well worth the stop and SO much better than Amazon...

I always find something good at Letterpress! What a local gem - I truly value having this store (and this family) in our community. I can always count on the owner for a kind word or great recommendation, and the selection of fantasy, fiction, and new releases is excellent for the store's size.
