My friend and I completed our scuba certification through this shop in August 2022. They were incredibly helpful and taught us everything we needed to know. Adam and Nancy are great instructors!

I had an amazing experience getting verified to scuba dive through Johnson's dive shop in Portland Maine! My instructors Adam and Nancy did a great job giving super clear instructions making me feel at ease even when some of the drills we had to do seemed a little scary. I learned a lot and had so much fun with the group:)

I didn't need to buy a lot of equipment, but Carrie still treated me as an important customer, answering all my questions, bringing an item I was interested in from another store, and even allowing me to test new fins in their pool. I can recommend Johnson's services whole-heartedly!

I took their intro scuba class with Peter over the past few weeks. He was an great instructor and patient and made sure we knew what we were doing and why! I am very happy with my first scuba experience and it wouldn't have been as great as it was without Johnsons Sporting Goods!

I wasn't sure what to expect but the entire experience was great, from the initial classroom answering questions through the open water dive at Cape Elizabeth. Adam and Natalie are a great team, fun, and always very helpful.

I just completed my PADI recreational dive certification through Johnson's with Adam Turner. It was an awesome experience. I am 42 and slowly completing my "bucket list". Adam was a top knotch instructor taking time to make sure everyone understood what they needed to do and helped to make sure everyone was successful completing skills. Great environment!

I became certified for SCUBA last year and… I LOVE THIS STORE! Carrie, Adam and the rest of the staff are extremely helpful and guided me along with sound recommendations. This is a family owned businesses that actually cares about the people and the sport. They know what they are talking about from years of experience and do everything right in house which makes it personable and efficient. They take pride in knowing every diver that leaves certified is equipped with all of the gear and knowledge to be able to safely dive. All three stores are fantastic! This Portland store provides all cold water scuba gear, runs SCUBA “discover” classes with their very own indoor pool for people interested in the sport and they do air fills at all three locations! I’ve had my BCD and regulator serviced by Walter through the Brunswick store and have been helped out with fittings and questions by Greg and Chad in the Rockland store. Carrie even puts on Dive trips every year! I encourage anyone with scuba needs to go through Johnson’s- whichever store is closest to them!

Johnson's goes out of their way to help new divers get comfortable and properly equipped for diving. The instructor Adam was great and had a lot of local knowledge about the local dive spots, and Carrie is relentless in finding the right gear and equipment for everyone. Overall a good experience and I can't wait to get back out and dive again!

Just finished a scuba course with Adam, and this store was the best for both the class and ensuring that you had all the equipment you needed. Everyone involved was very understanding and helpful. Overall a very good location, and will be my dive shop of choice going forward!
