I come to Portland Maine at least once a year and always go straight to Jen’s studio. I love her designs and the “primitive” feel of her jewelry. I’ve pretty much given up wearing any of my other jewelry.

Beautiful designs by a lovely jeweler, enjoyed talking to Jen about her inspirations. Creativity seems to run in the family as she also had some work from another family member featured in her shop. Also found some great gifts for co-workers including placebo mints as a cure for politics, inflation and troublesome relatives. Also picked up some silver earrings as gifts; while I didn’t purchase the faceted turquoise earrings, they were quite stunning.

I just moved to the East End this fall and Jen’s store is one of my favorites in the city. Her handmade jewelry is beautiful and the products sold at her store are carefully curated. A great place to find gifts for friends and family or treats for yourself. I bought a set of indigo dyed napkins that I absolutely love!

I recently purchased an engagement ring from Jen. I knew my girlfriend wanted a salt and pepper diamond, and after looking all over I found Jen's shop online. I wanted to propose during a bonfire weekend that is very special to us, we stay the weekend in a rustic camp on a pond. My plan was to propose to her on the dock but by the time I found her shop I had very little time to get the ring. I called Jen and she was very helpful in creating the ring that I chose in the short amount of time that I had. I was nervous buying something so important sight unseen but she assured me that not only would it be done on time, it would also be beautiful. When I saw the ring for the first time I thought it was gorgeous, and on that dock my now fiance was blown away and said yes.Thank you Jen, for making it all possible.

I have 3 pieces of Jen's designs and just love them. I have a set with earrings and necklace with polished carnelian stones and I have a pair of earrings with a leaf design in silver. My first set is over 15 years old and is still just as beautiful and because it was so well made, it has held up as an often worn set. She is an extremely honest person and my dealings with her have always been exemplary. I have shared her designs with many friends who also love her work.

Jen's jewelry is absolutely gorgeous and unique. I've purchased many pieces from her and worked with her on some custom pieces, including new wedding bands and resetting some inherited gemstones. I highly recommend her work. Her store is beautiful, too, and features a variety of handmade goods.

I discovered Jen's work 6 years ago when my husband and I ordered our wedding rings from her. She is talented and so easy to work with, even from across the country in Alaska. I continue to be a fan and a collector of her work.

If I could give less than one star, I would. Buyer beware. Have your stones appraised for authenticity immediately upon receiving your merchandise from this woman. We trusted her and then found out two years after the fact the 1.25 carat "sapphire" in my daughter's engagement ring (shown on the Jen Burrill Designs Yelp page) is glass! We had it appraised by two independent jewelers and got a certificate that it is, in fact, fake. Jen Burrill claims another jeweler took the original stone out, but in her own words when my daughter asked her to straighten the stone because it was crooked in its setting, Jen sent her an email saying it would be impossible for the stone to be removed without destroying both the stone and the setting. We have the email as proof and we are commencing with legal action in the state of Maine where the statute of liability is six years. Jen, this is not going away and if we can stop you from ripping off one more person, it will all have been worth it.

I have been a client of Jen's since the beginning of her business when she had a tiny storefront on Washington Ave. in Portland. I have purchased pieces for my mother, my sister-in-law and myself from her and we all love and cherish the jewelry from her studio. She will customize to fit your needs and is a lovely human being to do business with. I have a pair of labradorite earrings Jen created which my mom noticed and coveted so I had Jen make a duplicate pair for her and she did it in time for my mom's birthday party within a fairly tight timeframe. I recommend this business highly.

Jen was warm, welcoming, accommodating, as she made a custom-fit ring in a quick turnaround, since we were there for a weekend trip. The ring will be treasured for a lifetime.
