We were given a room that wasn’t cleaned, at all.
Walls are too thin, we were woken up by people slamming their door when exiting in the corridor all night long. The place had a bad smell all the time. Also, the price was way too expensive for the poor quality, you would be better spending an extra 50$ per night at another place.

The front desk lady was rude when I was checking in and had bad customer service skills. The room smelled like mildew, the fridge was not cold, the cable sucks, the windows did not have locks on them, they used sticks to prop them shut. When I went to the counter to ask for some plates for the food I bought she gave me a big sigh. I got locked out of my room twice (key wasn't working) and when I called the lady to send someone to help she gave another sigh like I was such an inconvenience. At this point my boyfriend and I found a friend that let us stay the night at their place so we went to ask about a partial refund (we had it booked for one night and we was there for only a couple of hours) but we couldn't because apparently there is only a 30 minute window for things like that. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will not be staying here again myself.

Nice looking reception, disappointing decoration in the rest of the building. Breakfast

The reception and breakfast areas are beautifully presented in a fresh contemporary style. However, after this great first impression the hallways to the rooms were a disappointment as they were drab and stale. The ochre colours and brown patterned carpet harked back to the 70s. It could be that the inn is mid way through a refurbishment and the hallways will get updated in keeping with the reception area. (it would be a massive improvement to have lighter walls and hard flooring instead of carpet)The staff were great. The breakfasts were good too. Plenty of choice.I given 4 stars simply because the door key cards frequently wouldn't work so you'd have to go to reception for new cards, and the dated, rather stale nature of the hallways and the room carpets.Having said that, I would stay again.Rooms: The first room we were allocated smelt of damp and mould (like the hallway) the lady on reception showed us a couple more rooms for us to choose as soon as we raised the issue.

Do not stay here. 30+ yrs of mold/mildew and smoke baked into the walls and carpet. Carpet is sticky. Thought to myself "I just need to stay somewhere tonight. I'll probably get used to the smell and I can put on flip-flops to walk to the bathroom".Then I felt the bed - moist. Not a word you want to associate with a bed. Another word? Sticky.Told them I couldn't stay there 'cause it was too gross. I was informed that it was their policy that if I'd been in the room more than 30m that they'd charge me for the 1st night (I was there about 45m). Note: they have a policy for this. A policy. In the end, we agreed I'd pay a $25 "cleaning fee". The only proof anyone had been in the room was an old receipt in the garbage and I'd turned down the bed, but whatever. I'd pay $25 to not stay there any day.

All I can say is that fortunately there were still rooms available because all the hotels in town were full and unfortunately the hotels are taking the word to increase the prices for people who didn't bother to book at the time. 'advance. In the old port the only hotel that had rooms was $900 per night and here at the Inn At I paid with taxes $434 for a night in a 3 star hotel! With the Canadian exchange rate my night cost $598. I was missing the luxury and the valet! The hallways had mold. Fortunately, the room was renovated and clean. The bath water drain is not effective. Lunch is a convenience store.

The main problem was that the room stunk horribly of mildew, but also the fridge did not get very cold and the boiled eggs included in the breakfast were spoiled. On a positive notes if you got close enough, (to distance yourself from mildew scent) the sheets smelled fresh and the water pressure was sufficient, and yes the desk clerk was friendly. Stayed only 1 night thank goodness. Would not choose to stay here again.

The room was dirty! Bathroom fan let in the aroma of smoke (it is located next to dispensary) and there was old food between the seat cushions of the chair in room. Bed comfy. Location 15 minute car ride from Portland. If you are in a pinch it’s fine but would rather pay a little extra to be elsewhere.

The room smelled like urine and mold. The carpets are filthy. Consider sleeping in your car over staying here.

Rooms: I spent 380$ when my room was originally supposed to be 270, the locks for the doors are old, and barley worked was hard telling if you were gonna even be Able to get into your room or not, the tv didn’t work the fridge didn’t work, the bathroom door barley shut, it’s smelled like mildew threw the whole entire hotel, don’t recommend for the money, spend a little more and go somewhere else.

I’ve stayed at more than a hundred hotels and motels ranging from Motel 6 to the Ritz Carlton over the years while traveling for business, leisure and medical care. While the Inn at Portland is an older, fairly modest hotel, I would certainly stay here again. I’ve never met nicer people than the owners and staff at this property. They are incredible, polite, accommodating and outgoing. They have made significant improvements to the place. The parking lot has been repaved and offers plenty of off street parking. Rooms have new large flatscreen TV’s (offering 100+ cable channels); comfortable beds; new light fixtures and furniture; microwaves; fridges; and more. The hotel is clean and quiet. They offer a free breakfast similar to what you might get at a Super 8. Getting to and from I-95 couldn’t be easier. I look forward to staying here again and seeing what additional improvements they have made.

The hotel has been added to and as such, has many corridors that make it complicated to navigate. The room was nice but boy was it spendy.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Check-in is an absolute nightmare. We drove 5 hours for our stay, and we were turned away by a staff member. We were verbally harassed, condescended, and physically injured by the time we left. Our booking had to be cancelled because we used my father's credit card (neither my partner nor I have one). They do not accept any other forms of payment. The staff is rude, the amenities are outdated, and the halls smell like mildew. I wouldn't recommend this "hotel" (more of a motel) to my worst enemy.

Motel close to the main road, in an industrial area, strange and long corridors, but the room itself was well equipped, clean and very pleasant
