Food & drinks: Duckfat, Cheese Louise, Shipyard Brewing, DiMillos, Becky's Diner, and countless more.”
“An absolutely beautiful property and outstanding service! Meticulously designed and very detail accounted for.
I loved the fireplaces and the stocked pantry. This will be my new home away from home when I visit Portland. Can’t wait to check out the rest of Lark Hotels properties!!
Rooms: Meticulously designed!”

1050 Westbrook St, Portland“We stayed here on our last night, we wanted an easy drive to the airport because of an early flight. This hotel was great for airport access and the room was huge! It was a little apartment quite comfortable and beautiful views to watch the planes take off and land. It wasn't too noisy either. They had a pretty good restaurant lounge lobby area that was quite enjoyable. I'd stay here again.”
“Great boutique hotel in downtown Portland with excellent service. Very cool that they were able to convert an old newspaper building into a modern hotel, with design details that match the building's heritage. As it is a historic building, the rooms were on the smaller side, but still big enough and comfortably appointed.
Walkability: Walkable to everything downtown Portland has to offer.
Noteworthy details: Building was converted from an old newspaper office into a modern hotel, with design details that match the building's heritage. Lots of references to newspapers, type, and typewriters.”

“Beautiful Hotel. Front desk staff was lovely, helpful, professional and friendly. We had a corner king on the 5th foor. Rooms were clean, nicely designed and comfortable. Shower was great, rainhead type, no issue with pressure or temp. Well designed closet with room for hanging clothes, a clothes steamer, coffee and tea makings, and mini fridge. Nice residential neighborhood with good restaurants, if you don't feel like heading downtown. Union 188 was a nice find, when we walked by during the day it did not look like anything much but for dinner we found a chef owned eclectic bistro with a tasty menu. Also found great food around the block at Cheval.

65 Commercial St, Portland“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay this past weekend at the HGI downtown Portland. The valet staff was very welcoming and friendly. Front desk always had a smile and were very helpful. Our waterfront room was very comfortable and spacious. We only had breakfast at the restaurant but the blueberry pancakes were SO delish. My husband really appreciated the fresh coffee available early in the morning. Having the keurig in the room is nice but my husband really enjoyed the fresh coffee. We're looking forward to our next stay at IGH downtown Portland in May. Thank you everyone:)Rooms: The room was very spacious and comfortable.Nearby activities: There's a great walking trail nearby as well as breweries within a mile of the hotel.Walkability: Being in such a great location, it's easy to walk to so many great waterfront restaurants. Lots of great shopping.”
“We absolute adore this place! We stay here every time we're in Maine. The rooms are amazing, the staff is awesome and the attention to detail is beyond none. Highly recommend!”

468 Fore St, Portland“While I will give this a high rating, I note this has among the slowest elevators on the planet.
Also they want to charge an extra $35 per night convenience fee. ARE YOU KIDDING? That is most of the bad. There is more that is good.
The check in staff was extremely kind and helpful with advice on places to go, parking options, etc. $45 for parking overnight there seems high since downtown Boston is about $50. But I saw a ramp charging $40 for a whole day so maybe that is just Portland pricing. Weird for a small town. Check out staff was very nice as well. They contacted the valet to get the car ready without me asking. Impressive!
I must say the location is wonderful. The terrace area for drinks on the terrace is very nice. The rooms, bed, and bathrooms are very good and nice sized. The facility is quite clean.”

1 Riverside St, Portland“I recently stayed at Motel 6 and had an exceptional experience. The staff were incredibly friendly, respectful, and always ready to solve any problems that arose. They are truly hard-working individuals who go above and beyond to ensure guests have a pleasant stay. I will definitely be coming back! Highly recommended.”

145 Jetport Blvd, Portland“Good customer service and comfortable atmosphere in the lobby. Rooms could use some updates. They were clean and comfortable. Very close to the airport and timely shuttle service in the early morning.”
“This was an absolutely great stay: Big super clean room with a huge comfy bed; great A/C (for those who like it - I don't); helpful staff; nice, convenient and silent area; proximity to several restaurants and attractions; fitness center; vending machines with a wide selection of snacks and drinks; complimentary coffee and tea; great common areas. I think people complain just because they are bored. I'm reading some people complain because neighbors were smoking outside. I don't like smokers too. Just like I don't like when I hear Taylor Swift's music coming from outside. But you just can't get rid of people if you don't like what they do!”

1150 Brighton Ave, Portland“The reception and breakfast areas are beautifully presented in a fresh contemporary style. However, after this great first impression the hallways to the rooms were a disappointment as they were drab and stale. The ochre colours and brown patterned carpet harked back to the 70s. It could be that the inn is mid way through a refurbishment and the hallways will get updated in keeping with the reception area. (it would be a massive improvement to have lighter walls and hard flooring instead of carpet)The staff were great. The breakfasts were good too. Plenty of choice.I given 4 stars simply because the door key cards frequently wouldn't work so you'd have to go to reception for new cards, and the dated, rather stale nature of the hallways and the room carpets.Having said that, I would stay again.Rooms: The first room we were allocated smelt of damp and mould (like the hallway) the lady on reception showed us a couple more rooms for us to choose as soon as we raised the issue.”
“This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay. Milan was and wonderful, caring , personable host who made our stay great! The only thing I would change is I would not stay on the 3rd floor because you have 40 steps from the sidewalk and I have bad knees. Other than that it was perfect! The breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. There were snacks and coffee. I recommend staying there.”
