Not for the DIY-er. You have to go inside to a desk where chances are you'll be ignored before being condescended to, then told to go out in the yard if you want to look at anything.

Installed a custom door with transom. Leaked from the transom down the door and into our house. Now we have moisture building up… they sent out a door representative only to decide to reorder our transom and door. A year later no door! Very disappointed

They have Andersen doors and windows, and several isles of tools if you’re a homeowner. It looked like they are remodeling their showroom when I was there. There is also a big commercial lumber yard for builders and contractors. Nice, helpful people. Great experience.

We had contacted Hammond Lumber (Mark Donaldson) regarding ShoreMaster Docks from out of state (Michigan) for a camp that we have in Maine. He was willing to meet us on-site when we were scheduled to arrive in Maine. He was responsive and when we meet with him he was informative and and recommended a solution for our needs. Shortly after (that same week) after meeting we received our dock and had it installed all within a matter of 1 week. Mark was professional and personable and an excellent representative for Hammond Lumber. I would recommend Hammond Lumber and ShoreMaster Docks to anyone who may have the need for a boat dock and associated equipment.

It's disappointing that a woman whose standing in front of the customer service desk with a gallon of stain for several minutes without being acknowledged. There were at least 4 me personnel at this desk and not a one of them were helping customers so to me that makes them available to wait to people, not answer the phone as the person in front of you should take precedence.To top it off, there was no one trained to run the paint shaker machine. Only 1 person does it and he was out today. Ever heard of cross-training and your staff could use a refresher on providing quality customer service.The cashier however was very pleasant and helpful.

Dave was a lifesaver. When our order was delayed by 20+ days, he went out of his way to find another supplier and got us our I-beams on schedule. Dave’s commitment to us is why we stay loyal to Hammond Lumber. Thanks Dave!

This is not a place for do it yourselfers. I went in to inquire about exterior doors and the guy was extremely rude that I didn’t have an answer to all of his questions. I really wanted to like it here, but I’ll never be back.

We’ve tried shopping here several times. Good luck getting any of their dozen or so employees to even acknowledge your presence let alone answer any questions. Must I beg you to take my money? Shockingly rude!

Super sad they don't have weekend hours. I completely respect that they want to give their employees family time, and offer free delivery, but working 5.5 days a week does not allot for us to shop any other time for our house needs. I want to see, and feel products, not just look at a magazine (which they gave us several and I appreciate). Just wondering why they couldn't consider some part time Saturday afternoon employees (different from their weekly employees) even until 2 / 3 p.m.?!?!? They don't need to be experts and can even refer customers to whomever that may be during a week day. It would just be nice to be able to browse and Look at the product. It's just sad that I have to now shop big box stores. Didn't come here to bash the company as I have never personally purchased anything from there as of yet, I just was hoping to make a recommendation.
