1000 Congress St, Portland“Dropped in while in town, no drama, quick sign up, great and easygoing peeps. Nice location, plenty of parking. Skilled coaches. If
You are in Portland and looking for a CF gym, hit them up, can’t go wrong.”
“Long time member who has watched the club evolve. Maybe not as fast as others, but always for the better. Continues to provide the basics while providing a welcoming environment for athletes of all ages”
“My favorite gym! I love the option to pay for drop ins as my schedule is inconsistent and I often have had to pay for memberships at other gyms where I haven't been able to fully use the classes some months.
The variety of classes and different teachers keeps it new and different. I especially love K's barre and strength classes and Rayne's bounce classes.
Make sure you book your classes early since they often get filled. I do love that they keep their classes on the smaller side so there is enough space and equipment.”

1077 Riverside St, Portland“the coaches at Misfits are all excellent. They provide exceptional programming, individualized coaching within the class and are wonderfully supportive. This gym truly feels like a community with members welcoming newbies and coaches taking time to include everyone regardless of skill. They have a rare ability to integrate a class of elite athletes through to complete noobs, while making everyone feel challenged, confident and included. no matter where you are on your fitness journey the misfit coaches will make you feel welcome.”
“I've worked with Katie McCarthy for the last 9 months or so, and if I weren't moving out of state, I'd be continuing to work with her indefinitely. I have hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) and have needed help in long-term recovery from a core injury that impacted my full body strength. After my work with Katie - seeing her once a week, and doing exercises on my own - I've been able to dramatically reduce my pain and increase my mobility. I wasn't able to walk without hip pain when we started; now I can walk 1-2 miles without substantial hip pain. It feels miraculous. And in addition, we've made progress on postural issues that I assumed were unfixable at this point in time. Postural restoration is amazing, yet it's really Katie herself who has made the difference. Her knowledge and expertise are beyond anything I've experienced before, and she has been committed to figuring out what works for my body, even when that means research and learning on her part. She's also a wonderful human being, with good humor and compassion that always make me look forward to our weekly session. And she listens to me and trusts my knowledge of myself, something anyone with a chronic condition knows is vital and often hard to find. I am beyond sad to be moving away from Back Cove Personal Fitness and Katie, but I'll be continuing my work with a PT Katie recommended to me in my new state, and will always be grateful for the recovery that's come about through my work with her.”

512 Warren Ave, Portland“I have been coming to Fitness Factory for a little over a year now. My life has changed in so many ways from becoming a member of this gym. Not only are the people who work here incredibly nice, knowledgeable, helpful, and overall great people, but the other members are amazing as well! Everyone is very friendly and supportive. I have made lifelong friends at this gym and picked up a lifelong passion for fitness. They have all the equipment you could need or ask for, and a lot of equipment that you can’t find at most gyms in the area. They have every type of bar you could need, plenty of weights, tons of equipment, and all the machines you could think of. They offer the perfect amount of cardio machines and options that don’t overpower the other equipment like most gyms. They have plenty of space throughout the gym with mats to stretch and workout. They offer deadlift platforms, various squat racks, and plenty of benchs. They even offer a chalk bowl and allow you to carry around gym bags (unlike most gyms in the area). The sign-up process is quick and easy, and there are no hidden fees in the process. They are very straightforward about the pricing and the yearly equipment upgrade fee. There is no cancellation fee as well, which is great. The girls locker rooms are kept clean at all times and even have amazing showers! I love the 24/7 access, it really is great not having to rush a workout if i go later in the day.Another thing I love about this gym is being able to purchase shakes, sports drinks, snacks, pre workout, and creatine at the front desk. The community at this gym is so amazing and I am very lucky to be a part of such a great gym!Thank you to the owner and staff for all of their hard work and dedication to running such an amazing gym!”
“Always been an awesome place to workout and has a great sauna. Excellent management has kept this facility in top notch shape. Very safe and comfortable environment.”
“Great vibe; welcoming staff and friendly members! I have been to 24 OTF studios across the country, and this studio ranks No. 1 in friendliness and overall vibe. Coach Jackson rocks it - one of the best I've experienced! Thank you for the warm welcome and inspiring workout!”
“I go early morning and it never feels crowded, but it's always busy.
Machines almost always work and there's a good variety of few weights. No dropping weight, chalk, or anything like that allowed. I've never needed it but I know many people bring a lock.”

145 Marginal Way, Portland“I am a Black Card member, and I have the awesome privilege to travel around to different Planet Fitness locations all over Maine. My overall experience at Planet Fitness is great! I don't feel judged whenever I work out. I believe it is the most important thing for me. I could wear whatever I'd like to the gym—appropriate attire, of course—and not feel like people are staring me down for being myself. The environment feels comfortable. Yes, there are bodybuilders, but it doesn't strictly feel like a Mount Olympian gym. It really depends on how you perceive it. The affordability of the membership is fair. I think it's affordable. One thing I have been thinking about for a while now is the possibility of bringing new equipment to Planet Fitness. Nothing specifically, but just a thought. It would be interesting to see a new contribution to the variety of equipment that Planet Fitness already has. Planet Fitness staff is friendly and has never had many issues.”

“I finally feel like I have found my community at Hustle and Flow! I have never been a huge fan of group classes until I started going to Hustle and Flow! I feel so comfortable and welcomed here and love the variety of classes that are offered at this studio. Very thankful to have found this studio!”
