We spent 7 days in Portland out of Alabama and visited Geno's 3 times. Nothing early in the week but the latter 2 days had 6 bands. The staff was friendly and the crowd eclectic, everyone was super friendly and we felt welcome the entire time. There's a large variety of beer and booze and it's cheap! If you're in Portland and need something to do in the evening, this is worth checking out.

I’ve been a few times for Work it Wednesday and Geno’s is seriously the queer dive bar I have always wanted to be a regular at. You know a place is rad when the bathroom mirror is more sticker than mirror!

Genos is my go to place in town! Tons of shows featuring local talent, decent prices, fun staff, and a badass esthetic make this place so unique and unmatched by other venues in the area!

Long ago I was a genos regular but haven’t been there since before Covid. I went there the other night and it had changed a bit but in mostly inconsequential ways. The lighting had been updated and the interior was a bit brighter. The front entryway had been rearranged a bit and featured a vending machine that carried cds by local artists. The young lady collecting the cover charge was very nice. The PA had been given a much needed upgrade back in I think 2018, and the live sound was very good. Opening bands were good and the headliner was GREAT!The bar was sold a few years ago but everything seemed to be functioning as intended. To judge the patrons I need to go there on a busier night, I hear the crowd has changed a bit, will have to see for myself at some point.

Great bar, good beer selection and lovely crowd. We went in October and the Halloween vibe was a great touch. There were movies and series playing on 3 different screens, which I personally loved. They're a great conversation starter or distraction, whichever you prefer. The music was great, mostly new wave, the bartender was lovely and the crowd was nice, even though it wasn't a busy night. Make sure to bring cash.

Cool old school bar/club that has good size acts roll through. They had cups and water out which was awesome because it did get hot in there (your standard metal crowd will do that) The drinks were poured fast and not weak either. All the staff were super nice to my wife and I, would definitely see an act there again. The best part is it's right downtown so you can hit all the good food in the area.

5 stars for when this is what you're looking for. They were playing toxic avenger on a projector. The drinks are drinks and the walls have plenty to gander at. It's is great for many shows they do, I was just there for a drink recently and it was just some good fun.

I feel complety discrimanated against because your bartender guy accused me of nonsense. Im a artist and im autistic. Im friendly to people im not a threat to anyone i respect other people. If they want to judge me because im autistic and say they feel uncomfortable because im different thats not right. Your bartender raised his voice out loud gave me a panic attack and i even tipped him and the last drink i bought he threw the money back in my face... ive never been treated like that. I felt like a piece of trash to be treated that way. It mentally affected me. I will be speaking to the ada and a civil rights group. People with autism and develamental disorders have rights just like everyone else. Ive been nice and tipped and treated all your bartenders nice even the guy who treated me like dirt... no one should ever be treated that way. I told that bartender i have autism and i dont always understsnd if somone doesnt want to talk to me and they judge me because im different. When i told him i have autism he yelled at me.......... i want to resolve this matter with the owner are i will take legal action.
