Car Hop was amazing. They jumped through hoops to put together a champagne and chocolate basket for us then delivered it to the court house in Portland Maine for friends who were getting married. We are so appreciative that they went above and beyond to do this in a very short time frame.

Terrible service. Our food sat there getting cold for an hour. I called repeatedly and no one answered. I left a message, and when they finally called back, they said my driver got in a horrible accident. If this is true, that’s really awful, but this isn’t the first time they have been ridiculously late. If it is true, they could quickly send a text message to all of their clients saying, “We’re sorry that we can’t fulfill your order. We will refund your money.” Something! I will not be using this company again. $16 extra for food that is cold and gross, but didn’t have to be? No, thank you!

Literally the worst delivery service ever- on both the consumer and the restaurants end. Lady who answers the phone is rude and provides atrocious customer service. Old man with the glasses who delivers for them is rude. I can’t believe they’re still in business. I have never had so many problems with a delivery service in my life. Use 2dinein

Terrible service. An hour after my order was scheduled to be delivered, I reached out to CarHop. They were out of drivers and couldn't get to the order before the store was closed. Therefore they canceled the order over 2 hours after it was submitted, with a message that "any refunds should be visible in your account in 3-4 business days. Thank you for understanding." Avoid.

Unusably awful. Food arrives over an hour after it was picked up every time. Food arrives cold every time. Cannot reach anyone that can clarify order status. All local businesses should avoid partnering with this company.

My food arrived over an hour late, completely cold, with melted plastic in it. It was the third time I have used Carhop and it was late each time. The driver was bizarre and rude. I reached out to customer service and called them with no answer or call back.
After tips and delivery fee the delivery cost as much as the burger.
If you are a restaurant that uses this company, I recommend you use 2dinein, way more professional and just a local.
Also notice how they never reply to the negative reviews.

I used CarHop many times early on with great experiences. I'm not sure what has happened since I last used them but it seems like a completely different company.
Submitted an order recently that was an hour late from the stated time. I understand these things happen but it required being on chat with customer support for almost a half hour attempting to figure out if and when it would be coming.
Once it arrived, the heavier entrees were stacked on the ones that are lighter resulting in the one on the bottom being completely crushed. That's a problem when it's ravioli. In addition to this, two items were missing.
I contacted customer support again, right after, who said a manager would need to review and get back to me. I never heard anything back.
I've since followed up FOUR times and have been told each time "a manager will get back to you" regarding my refund on the missing items. Nothing.
This order was in mid April. It's now a month later and still nothing.
Awful customer support, the chat employees are not empowered to make any decisions and always deflect back to needing to consult management. For a local company, I would expect better than doordash. At least with them, if something gets screwed up, it's made right immediately. I will never use this company again.
The highlight out of all of this was the driver who was excellent and communicated well.
I did not want to leave this review but after the amount of time and number of follow ups, it's warranted. Do better. You've lost me as a customer but I hope you can learn from this and improve.

I’ve used carhop a fair amount of times. Never any issues and if they’re late, they send a text (I think the longest I had to wait in additional time was like 10 minutes, nbd). Nice that prices are the same as the restaurant

0 star customer service, orders are always late and you’re always charged full price, my last order had an item missing and there’s no option to report this on the app and if you email customer service they ignore you

As someone who once worked in service industry I have a pretty high level of tolerance when things don't go right. However there are things that are in control of the service operator and things that they can't control.
My wife and I work full time jobs and have young kids. Sometimes it is just not in the cards to make dinner. Using services such as carhop take the dinner stress away. Or at least SHOULD!
On several occasions (at least 5 times). Carhop was met with delays at the restaurant (out of their control). But carhop failed to communicate the delays timely to me and in some scenarios no communication at all (in their control). I finally had enough after I had scheduled dinner to be delivered ahead of time for 5pm but didn't get updates until I called carhop (which I did 3 times over an hour and a half). By 6pm my patience was gone. I asked for a refund so i could take kids out to dinner but carhop declined the refund because the order was finally being made. Is the restaurants negligence carhops fault . No. But did carhop fail to provide good customer support for their service built around communicating ? YES.
I hope they look at their service model because I want them to succeed. But I will not be using their service any more and I would tell anyone reading this to take caution.
