“Roland, the owner, is the sweetest, most caring guy. I stop by this family store every time I’m in the area…I tend to forget to pack something on my travels and he always has the items I need.”

“The nicest cumby's in the area. They have public restrooms and more selection (fountain sodas, baked goods, sandwiches, etc) than the one over the bridge in bath.”

“This place is always so busy, gas prices run about 10 cents more per gallon than others in the area, they have a lot of pumps so I have never had to wait to top off the tank.”

“I think I messed up the last post but this is the best little corner store definitely to small hometown feeling all of the workers there treat you like your family so it's always heartbreaking when one of them decides they need to move out of state cuz it feels like we are losing one of our own I love going there every day I usually leave with a smile”

“Our Garmin let us down when we were trying to get to the Doubling Point lighthouse. We decided to ask for directions at this gas station and also get drinks. The cashier was wonderful!”

“Two road trips across America equals many pull off the highway to Poedunk PA, or Poedunk Anywhere to swing a loop and follow the arrow until it reaches the dot. I've seen a thousand shelf's of junky foods that seem like ample sustenance in the haze of my tired night driving eyes, but it's important to make a wise gas station stop decision at this moment. Just buy gas, water and coffee and keep driving, nothing ruins a road trip like a case of the runs, slurred speech or paralysis. If only Rusty's Lantern had a national presence, I'd set the controls to continuously scan for this well run business with hot and freshly made grab and go food items. Breakfast items I've partaken in include - biscuits and gravy, ham, steak or my favorite, sausage egg and cheese on an english muffin. Lunch - pepperoni pizza with freshly made crust, not frozen so your not at the mercy of a malfunctioning freezer. The hamburger is not going to blow your American highway palate away, but a fair value and a great fixings bar to trick or out to your likings. I'm sorry to read the poor reviews prior to posting my review, I feel that they are shortsighted and are lashing out on Rusty due to the current price discomforts we across this great land are all feeling the pinch on.”

“Large fueling area wide lanes betwm in the store to avoid other shoppers witheen pumps and plenty of of room to park your boat while you fill it up with you greasy hands from the money time pizzas.r vacation budget unless of course the price of gas is not a concern for you considering you can afford that big boat and everything like that nice tundra bh the way . The store attached is a rusty lantern that has a surprising good pizza and coffee selection. Both are real good. Greasy pizza coffee by design coffee and lots of room”

“I love going there. The service is awesome. they have really good hot food. Lots of different drinks. They even have cold sandwiches. It's such a good place to go. My favorite is their hot dogs. And my new favorite is the steak sandwich with peppers. Soon, good. You can even get gas there and propane. Go and give it a try.”

“Despite the time of day (or night), the staff is cheerful and helpful. You can also find a wide array of food that's better than just a gas station. Sandwiches, baked goods, and really good cheesecake!”

“Yo. Seriously. The people who work here are amazing!!!! I think I've interacted with every employee, I go here pretty much everyday, and they all are so friendly and personable!! There's even a couple people I chat with when I'm there late night for snacks. Just such a great team. I know what it's like to work in a store and customers can be rude at times, it's a difficult job and those who work here do it well!! Thank you for hiring such wonderful people.Signed,One satisfied customer”

“Perhaps you'll think "Glenn is far away from civilization - minus todays review machine gunning whole nine yards - & - now he's reviewing gas stations? I had a gas station lobster roll three days ago from Irving Oil and they're about to get their four star block knocked off, having little to do with the lobster roll - more to do with the man why yelled "Hellooo, you must leave the premises. I think he was a manager - I'm gonna have a chat with his punk as__.Isn't there more to this review that flaming Irving - yes indeedie - the workers are wonderful - but Irving was the hundred and fourty second gun in the west - Irving -- sung high -- Irving sung low.Today there was a new recruit that furrowed his brow when I requested a breakfast sandwich - they're cheap and I feel kinda guilty ordering them but I make good balancing choices in the fields as I harvest and eat roots and cucumbers and cucurbits of all shapes and sizes. The town of coffee, although a bit trashed by sloppy people who can't press and pour without making a disaster of a mess - it's $1.07 and you can bring your own container of most any size, however, I stay with the 80s McDonald's non biodegradable foam they provide - which I do prefer, the cardboard doesn't hold heat well and is easily corrupted by my after work beer. The Beer Cave is a happening spot, all the way in the back and you can purchase and pound anytime of day, just not between 1am and 5am which is reasonable and they sell booze and wine and it's at all so very cheap - I could easily develop a bit of habit here in Maine - let's hope not.The magazine rack has local periodicals that cost a lot more than they deserve which isn't Cumberlands fault, their communist rags are so self serving to the posh Portland people, makes my stomach turn every Sunday morning, so I'll grab the freebies and read about Da Bearz and other high school sporting teams. Chips, dips plastic clad pies all of which I pass on but I've wanted a few gas station egg salad sandwiches which will serve you well in a pinch - that's all for now fine citizens of planet earth - until next time -”
