Great kind hosts who were super helpful and pleasant, and this is an awesome jumping off point for exploring Baxter and the area! We did the Traveler Loop - one of the best hikes in the East. Definitely recommend!

Perfect getaway for hiking- Chase Mountain nearby and Mt Katahdin hikes about 45 minutes away. Relaxing- on pond and can sit out and watch wildlife. The food is delicious, specially prepared with local sources. Hearty souped up oatmeal breakfast or yummy french toast. The hosts are kind, friendly and engaging.
Nearby activities: Hiking, mountain biking
Food and drinks: Gormet meals

Lindsey and Mike are wonderful hosts and will make sure your stay is memorable. We loved being so close to the North side of Baxter State Park and all the fun activities you can do around the lodge itself. They have kayaks, SUPs and canoes and the tranquil pond offers endless possibilities. The food was healthy, tasty and home made. A rare find in this part of the world. We are definitely coming back next Summer!
Nearby activities: Hiking, mountain biking, swimming, kayaking.

We had an excellent stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfast was excellent, and the location was top notch - we enjoyed canoeing around the pond and taking in some of the best natural spaces that Maine offers!

The owners have given the utmost attention to even the smallest of details. From the lodge to the food and the atmosphere, everything was top notch. I can't recommend the Mt. Chase Mt Chase Lodge enough.

Second time visiting and we are already talking about our next trip. It is an incredibly beautiful place to stay, right on a pond that allows for wildlife viewing (we saw a mother moose and her baby!) Great location for hitting Baxter amd exploring the north woods. Rooms are super clean and cozy and the food and hospitality are beyond!

Nearby activities: The Lodge is perfectly situated to take advantage of some of the most beautiful wild places in Maine. The hiking in Baxter State Park is unequaled but the trails of Penobscot River Trails are more accessible and part of the best accommodated parks anywhere. The Seboeis River Trail is a very short drive from the Lodge and for a short walk gives views of a spectacular Maine stream.
Food and drinks: The food at the Lodge is excellent. The kitchen is very accommodating to special dietary requests. There is a fixed price for salad, bread, main course and dessert. Maine beers and a variety of wines are available at an additional charge. There are excellent breakfast choices. Lunch is not served but bag lunches are available to take on hikes. The local scenery is spectacular but the Lodge meals are an equivalent draw.

We had an amazing time while we were there. The cabin was sweet and cute with a lovely view of the pond. The staff were more than friendly. When we decide to travel to Shin Pond and Mount Chase again even if we don't stay with the lodge we'd gladly stop and say "hi" and thank them again for the fantastic experience we had.

Everything was perfect! Good food, great location and extremely homely and accommodating team of people. Lindsay, Kelly and Abbie were amazing hosts and flexible with our dietary requirements and last minute room changes. Michael and Kelly make extremely tasty and filling food. Highly recommended!

We literally felt in heaven. From the moment we walked in until we left, the food, service, rooms, view, activities... Everything was perfect. Canoeing on the lake was an amazing experience. Thanks a lot..
Rooms: The rooms are very comfortable and large. There is a coffee machine and good coffee. Although we could always find fresh coffee in the lobby.
Nearby activities: The lodge has its own canoes. We stayed for two days and canoed on the lake every day. very enjoyable
Food and drinks: They have their own Restaurant. When you enter, they give you a menu with options, especially for breakfast. You choose from there and there are no surprises in the morning. Everything you want is ready on the table. They also offered two options for dinner. It was very nice with its dessert and salad.

We were fortunate enough to have booked our cabin for the April 2024 eclipse, and it could not have been a more memorable experience! The cabins really are tucked away in a lovely, quiet spot, the amenities are comfortable and the service is great. We mostly kept to ourselves, enjoying the quiet of the cabin and early morning walks along the water, but it was just the retreat that we needed (a crystal clear view of the eclipse was the cherry on top!)
