A really good layout on naturally hilly terrain. The course conditions are less than average. Crabgrass everywhere and bare spots take away from the golf experience. Freshly aerated greens without warning or discount, added to the disappointment. PLGC is not worth the $86 they charge to ride 18 holes. I guess that's just part of being the only course in the area.

If you are looking to play golf for the price this course is offering , you will be extremely disappointed. $62 for 9 holes with a cart. First off, don’t ask for waters because they have none. Who would’ve thought in Maine. The fairways , don’t even worry they aren’t there. The tee boxes, more like a 4x4 sandbox . The greens, the two without dirt patches were decent I’ll give them that. Overall don’t waste your time you’ll be disappointed.

Staff was very nice, but the course was rough, some bad greens, one tee box had a dirt hole in it, and some of the fairways looked like an excavator had gone through it in a rain storm. WAYYY overpriced for the conditions.

This course had a poor review just recently. I have to say, after golfing 18 holes here and a little cautious after reading it… for the weather and drought that has been throughout New England, the place was in great shape. I’m from CT and was visiting a friend in Rochester. We wanted to golf but tee times were limited. We decided to drive 45 mins up from Rochester to explore this course.Maybe 2-3 holes had rougher tee boxes. The sand, not horrible, and the fairways were exactly that, FAIR. The staff was super friendly and even gave us discounts on product that was used and new! Cart girl was friend and offered us reviews on private brews! I’d totally recommend this course as the season continues. The fall foliage will be great!P.s. the restaurant… is extremely easy to find. As you drive in, you drive right by it. It had lights and sweating outside you cannot miss. Foot and brews were excellent! Enjoy your round here, it’s worth the few bucks considering the season NH/Maine has had.

Sat.8/27/22 Pace of play was very, very slow especially the front 9. We were a 2 some followoing a 3 some. Pace sped up quickly on back 9 though. Course was in horrible shape, cart paths are an after thought and most people pull up very close to the greens. Kept missing the drink cart. Started at 9:15am and made the turn at 11:45 and no food was available. Nothing but chips soda and beer? Front desk said hot dogs would be ready in 10 minutes but with the pace of play we did not want to hold the course up any longer waiting for a hot dog that frankly every other course has ready to go at 1030. Bunkers were absolutely horrible, a few you could not even hit out of? Was told restaurant was downstairs and we drove around the bldg. twice before realizing there is nothing downstairs and the rest. was actually down the street. Finally caught the drink cart at hole 13 and she was missing alot of things but was very nice about it. Some of the fairways were absolutely horrible and had you wishing you hit into the rough instead. Place was very disappointing and seems to assume everyone is local and thats proabbly for good reason as I made a 35 minute drive to play here and was very disappointed. I doubt they get many repeat non-locals.8/31/22--Unprofessional but not surprising response from owner,Hearing your response to my review does nothing but affirm my experience (sadly). Sorry I do not give reviews based out of spite as I realize this is people’s lively hood but I also know people (customers to you) work hard to earn their money and should get everyone’s honest experience when deciding where to spend that money. Maybe you should start caring a little more about that as well instead of going with the whole customer is always wrong approach that you seem to believe in. Here is my response to your immature and unprofessional response,1) All reviews are subjective to one’s opinion, please tell me this is not news to you? I am sure people will read the good one’s as well. Are those not subjective to their opinions or do you write them all?2) Sorry I did not see the sign, this was my 1st time here and did not expect to see the rest. Down the road from the club house. In fact we stopped on the way out as we saw it on the left when leaving and almost drove right by it as did the car right behind us, when they got out of their car they said the same thing to us. And I was told it was downstairs, probably by you as I do not forget faces either. Why would I lie about that?3) I did not interrupt anyone, when I walked into the clubhouse there was no one else in there but you. But I get your desperate attempt trying to paint me as a bad unruly customer to anyone who may read my review.4) Yes snack counter has peanuts and trail bars for anyone reading this not just chips. That changes nothing.5) I not only win as you unprofessionally referred to it on the bunkers but I win on my entire review as it was my experience. Sorry maybe you should try to improve a few things, at least the ones that you can rather than try to belittle your customers who had a bad experience.6) Trying to put down an unsatisfied customer by calling them snarky, making up lies about interrupting people, making immature comments about needing the cart to follow you around all day just goes to show that you probably should not own a golf course. I feel bad for your employees to be honest. I hope anyone reading this review gets the info they need. I am sure many enjoy the course but suspect most are locals and members like I said. My advice in the future to any disappointing reviews is try to be more professional in your response, maybe apologize for what was out of your control and try to improve on what you can control rather than belittling them. Good or bad all your customers are your customers and you should always be professional. Good luck in the future.
