Dr. Leighton is the best! Her care is very thoughtful and she has a gentle presence. I had a very stressful behavioral problem with my cat and she solved it and helped me stay calm while we figured it out. Highly recommended!

Wonderful people and excellent medical care. I am very picky about who cares for my dog. These people surpassed my expectations and are very kind and caring to furbabies and their parents. ❤️

Kindred has been our families vet since they opened their doors years ago. Kind & knowledgeable staff, and a very clean, calm, lobby with a lovely coffee bar & treats for the four legged babies while waiting. We are so lucky we live just a half mile away, but I would travel far and wide for this place! Ever since they saw my baby girl Peaches within minutes of her being hit by someone on a four wheeler. They had her examined & x rayed in just minutes to make sure she had no serious damage beyond some splinters & scratches. I’ll never forget that day, and many more incredible moments thanks to the staff at Kindred.

In Belfast for summer and needed vet appointment for my pup. Four other area vets told me they were not taking new clients. One suggested I call vets in Portland or Bangor. Thankfully, I called Kindred Spirits. Not only did I get an appointment, but they fit my pup in their surgery schedule. The clinic is beautiful, the front desk staff friendly and professional. The vet, Dr. Alisha Ressler, was compassionate and knowledgeable. Frankly, I was lucky to have been turned away by other clinics because it led me to this wonderful clinic. I highly recommend Dr. Ressler and Kindred Spirits.

Retired DVM. Left this practice several years ago. Attending DVM was Taryn Haller, and at the time she had been graduated for less than two years from vet school. In December 2021, one of my dogs sustained a facial injury. It was later in the afternoon, I Was applying an initial bandage to the dogs face and my wife called the clinic which was still open. The receptionist, Jo-El, apathetically told my wife that they would probably be closed by the time we arrived. My concern was the proximity of the injury to the dog eye. The dog was seen and treated at midcoast in Warren who did an excellent job.. Several days later, I expressed my concern about the clinics reaction to Dr Haller, who responded with a scathing email telling me that I had no business abusing her staff on the phone. Dr. Haller also stated "Ultimately, dog bite wounds can wait until the morning in many cases, with antibiotics and pain medications. Due to the crushing component of bite wounds, the full extent of injury isn't fully declared for 3-5 days afterwards - meaning that if it was small, I may not have even wanted to close in a potential infection or unhealthy tissue." To put it simply, this statement is completely inaccurate. Its proximity to the Eye demanded immediate attention. Apparently the receptionist decided to provide her employer with a more creative version of the truth, rather than take responsibility for her completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior, When I wrote her back to explain that I hadn't even been on the phone and that the call had been recorded, I didn't receive any reply. I then wrote the clinic owner of my experiences, and never got a reply. It is my understanding that the clinic has since been sold to a corporation. This makes no difference to me. It's been my experience when I was working that corporate ownership at no time improves the quality of service provided by any veterinary clinic.

Call to ask for advice on Degu diets after being referred by Google. Nurse was rude and curt. Then said they don't give advise to people who are not patients. What kind of veterinary place, refuses to give you helpful advise that could save your animal because they're not getting a cut. Shameful. Responsible for taking care of others animals but could care less about animals if your not getting paid. Thanks alot.

I can’t say enough nice things about Kindreds. We had an emergency with our dog where she was declining really fast and they were the only vets to respond almost instantly. We decided to do an End of Life and they were absolutely amazing. Chris Barry walked us right through it and I can’t thank him enough for being there with us and making our girls last moments as special as they could be in this situation.
Thank you Chris and thank you to the staff who responded to my messages and calls. ???

Our first visit was this past Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023. The space is open and welcoming. Within this open area there is a gated space for those who need more quiet, but you're still part of the greater whole. The receptionists were efficient, the vet tech amazing and the doctor highly skilled and attentive. Great experience!!

Once again - Dr. Ressler exceeds expectations. She was prompt and made certain she knew everything I was concerned about. She gave me options on how to get to the root of the issue with our dog and had a plan of action for each of the options. She spends just the right amount of time with the animals and it is clear that she connects with them.Super nice staff. Vets are knowledgeable and caring. We use Dr. Ressler. She is fabulous but I am certain all the vets there are caring. Easy to get an appointment, lots of parking. They are always on schedule and spend as much time as needed to understand what your pet needs. Cannot recommend enough!

Dr. Neville at Kindred Spirits Vet is outstanding. I am in tears as I type this with how compassionate and caring she is. This week I called with an emergency with my bunny Griffin, and despite not being a patient, Dr. Neville squeezed me in to care for Griffin. Dr. Neville even drove back after hours to be with me at Griffins final moments.Kindred Spirits is affordable and they do not charge more, like other surrounding vets do. They are fair with pricing and their care is top notch. Every penny was worth it.I’m grateful beyond measure for her and all other staff at Kindred, there simply is no better Vetinary Clinic than Kindred in Orrington, ME. No words could thank the staff for their efforts and love they showered us with this week.

I had an early morning appointment, but due to an accident on my way, I was 15 minutes late. I was still greeted with kindness and smiles. Not only that, but I appreciated all the time they took with my questions and visit. I'm looking forward to our next visit. Thank you!

Everyone from reception to vet techs to vets are wonderful and caring and go out of their way for a good experience for me and my very anxious dog.
