Excellent deals and very friendly staff, the fresh veggies though are close to wilting stages. Bought fresh spinach for my guinea pigs and it was wilted by the end of the day. And was consistently in the fridge, at least the deer outside liked it though

This is a great little grocery store. The meat in particular is spectacular. There's new deals every week.

Stopped in to pick up Maine Red Snapper Hotdogs, hotdogs I could not find in any grocery stores in the Bangor and Brewer area and Maine potatoes, as well as types of deli meats you cannot find in the chain stores such as Hannaford, Shaw's, Walmart, etc. This IGA feels like Maine with MOXIE, whoopie pies, fresh vegetables and a strawberry preserve that actually has bits of strawberries in it. The feels of a local hometown grocery store of years past with employees that made you welcome which is a rare thing these days.

IGA does not except Federal IDs such as passport books or IDs. I don’t who the owners are, but with the UMaine being right on their door step and with the amount immigrant students. They have cut out a huge demographic, it’s truly a shame what they are doing. I left all the products on the counter and walk out. I won’t be supporting a local own business that decides to cut off such a large demographic, especially since passport IDs are becoming more common. Either way right down to Hannaford and got everything cheaper. Plus I didn’t have to be ID for margarita mix. Thank God for Hannaford.

Good selection. Store brands are very well priced. Large spice containers are an excellent buy - never buy spices again in the small, over priced, containers again. Example - 6.5 oz smoked paprika for $5.99! Amazon has McCormick smoked paprika 1.75 oz for $4.79! Huge difference!

Great prices, bakery & deli. Friendly & helpful staff. Worth driving out of my way on occasion to pick up hats to find things.

Grocery store for poor people who don't realize they're being gouged. It's a waste of time coming here because you'll still have to go to Hannaford after when you can't find 1/3rd of the items on your list, or aren't willing to lower your standards for what they have. No organic or preservative-free options. They price gouge on everything if you compare to Hannaford, especially crackers & chips. Their entire milk section expires 5 days from now. The store is cluttered and cramped. The carts are too big for such narrow aisles, and they don't have a smaller cart option. Customers are visibly irritated maneuvering their carts. Cashiers make no effort to mask their contempt for their job or customers. The grossly overweight pink-haired cashier asked if I found everything I was looking for today, I said No and she just kept scanning items and ignored me. They bark at you if you swipe your credit card before all items are scanned. Trust me.. just don't come here if you have any self-respect.

Many products in wrong spots, Sandwich Dely is very unorganized, Make sure you check your food label. Prices are hit and miss, meat is usually fair . Service is lame, Employees are very unprofessional and complain if you have muti items cart full, Unfortunately I don't think this problem will get any better, Very sad generation has changed, Reveiws seem to be a waste because again the generation or ignorance to want to look professional or be proud of who you are, Today we worry about all the wrong things,

Bought a sandwich today. Roll was like a week old crumbly thing. They offer reduced prices on day old sandwiches but this one was made the same day. Meanwhile, they have kept going up and up on the sandwich prices (not unlike others out there) but at least when they were cheaper priced and you got a stale roll or soggy wet inside roll because they don't know how to make a sandwich (the wet veggies do NOT go on the roll if it's sitting on a shelf for a time)...at least you weren't out much. Maybe just a fluke - but not buying a sandwich there again.

Cashier and grocery bagger were so friendly! And prices here were very good, especially in the meat section! The store is relatively small but had everything we were looking for. Filled a cart for only $106, definitely a good value

I've been coming here for a while now. I order a sandwhich at the deli! Ive been there so much nearly every staff at the deli recognizes me and knows what im there for! They all are super kind and talk to me about whatever! Its very common i walk up and before i even say anything i get asked "you here for your sandwich?"Something about being a "regular" customer makes me really happy. I am only 16 but the staff treat me like an adult even though I'm still a kid. Its just a really comfortable place for me to go especially after stressful appointments to get my IGA sub. Its become almost a ritual now. Almost every time i have to go out for appointments i get a sub from IGA! All the staff members are so kind and are so understanding about how i need certain things cut! I have different sensory issues and need things a certain way so i can actually eat it and the staff are very understanding. I 100 percent recommend you should go to IGA and get a custom sub from the deli! Its worth it ^^
