“We did not stay in the rooms so i could not comment, but i assume it would be similar to Island Inn, the other of the two lodging places on the island. So are the restaurants, Monhegan House and Island Inn restaurants. After the boats left and the island became quiet, these two places where people gather. So we alternated between them. The food is fantastic. Not like other tourist places, where they lock you in and start price gauging, on this island, people are nice and business is fair. We expected higher price because on the island everything costs a little more. They need to ship over vegetables, meat, fish and even water. but relatively price here is reasonable and the portion is not stingy. on top of that, the food is delicious.”

“It is on an island, which is 2-3 hours away from the mainland and cars. You could only come over on a boat, which runs once per day. So you could not expect to have a Hilton. The rooms are clean and small. But it is cozy and very cultural specific for the island. We stayed at Pierce Cottage which gave us a little more room and privacy. There are dirt or pebble paths between the cottages and the main building. Nobody is here for luxury or comfort. We want to walk the trail and look at the ocean. It is a beautiful place with unique characteristics.”
