A safe, thorough, promise-keeping small company.This July I used Katahdin Air to visit a cabin on a remote pond in northern Maine. Once at the cabin there is no power, no service, no way to communicate with anybody. They dropped us off on a Thursday, and were to pick us back up on Sunday. I was a little nervous, because I absolutely had to be down on the Cape for work that next Monday, so I asked them, over and over--what happens if there are thunderstorms? We'll still be able to get out, right?They promised me they'd get me out.Sunday dawned with clouds laying all the way down to the tops of the trees, and said thunderstorms. They couldn't safely land on the small pond, pick us back up, and get us back to Millinocket (a journey that, for them, takes about an hour round trip). So instead of leaving us there and getting us the next day, they drove 3+ hours one way on forest roads in a 4x4 to pick us up. A six hour trip for them, instead of one hour. When, there was no way for us to do anything but wait--they could have waited until the next day.But they promised to get me out on Sunday, so that is what they did. I will 100% use Katahdin Air again, and would recommend you do so as well. Flying over Mount Katahdin is something else, I gotta say.

My husband and I rode with Andy over Katahdin and surrounding area. l was truly thrilled and inspired by the beauty and vastness of this rugged landscape. Thank you Katahdin Air for this incredible experience.

OH WOW!!!What more can I say. But wow!This was my first time ever flying. And wow! Ok so they say that in smaller planes you feel a lot more turbulence. Pilot let us know when we went through the first bit of turbulence. (He knew it was my first time flying) felt like a rollercoaster to me. I was good with it. He explained all the safety protocols preflight and explained how the headsets worked. He made sure to included our names several times during the flight to keep us included. His knowledge of the area was incredible and it was great learning about the area. He did try and find a moose and was successful. It was in the hotter part of the day, during a heat wave and he found one for us. (The only one we saw on our trip to Maine) It was such a great time seeing the area from a bird's eye view. Especially Mt. Katahdin. Because I am outdoorsy, but not outdoorsy enough to want to climb that mountain. Lol. Only way I was gonna be able to see the top of that thing was from the air.It was one of the most exciting, highlights of my trip. I will always remember this trip above all others because it was the first time I ever flew. If you want a good experience, fly Katahdin Air. They are amazing people, who care about their customers and the area in which they fly. Totally amazing, would definitely fly with them again!!!!

Jim the owner is a awesome pilot. I felt extremely safe and the flight was awesome even though is was a quick one over to a fishing camp. Beautiful views ! I highly recommend you take a scenenic trip with Jim. They also have a fly and dine package with a fishing camp where the food is amazing !

We have been using Katahdin Air for years, but this was the first time we have traveled with a child. Jim is always enjoyable to fly with and his skills are incredible. Two years ago we were grounded due to weather and instead of delaying our departure he drove us three hours in his truck down dirt roads/ trails into the Northern Maine Woods. This year he landed a float plane on a lake in a cross-wind without even waking up an infant. His consideration and skills are second to none.

Have flown with Jim for many years now great pilot and we have had a lot of fun over the years just went into Henderson with three others had Norman, Tom and Bob had a great time as always we caught the beautiful native trout and all of us have booked for next year can't wait to get back there!
