This store is a lifesaver for thru hikers. The store itself is great for resupply and has a ton of eat options for the hungry hiker. The staff know hikers and it shows. This is also a good place to recharge your devices, hit the bathroom (HOT water), and grab some hot food/coffee. It an oasis.

Amazing experience! The staff was super friendly and we got some great suggestions for the area from them! We were lucky and got an amazing tent site with a view directly of Mount Katahdin. Also very calm, and we were able to rent kayaks and tubbing for the entire day for 35$. The tent sites were a bit expensive (20$ per person) but over all our experience was so great we are definitely planning on returning next year.

Beautiful place, kinda feels like the end of the world. The store had nearly everything I needed, and the ice cream was good. Tent sites are kind of expensive, perhaps there should be a designated hiker tent area. Showers were lovely though.

Store sells you firewood knowing you can't bring it in the camp. Rangers tell you the store is a scam and make you throw it away even though you just bought it just down the road. Then the website says 4-6 peopleper site, but rangers insist website is wrong and make you buy another site for 5 people. None were available so after hiking all day, couldn't stay and had to drive 7 hours overnight to get back home and of course kept the money for the site already rented.

A great campground with beautiful views of Katahdin and the river. Prices are maybe a little steep as they are per person, but it includes a nice breakfast and clean restrooms/showers. Everybody who works there is SO friendly and accommodating. Only things to note are the bathrooms didn't have hand soap, and try to avoid sites 13-15 - they are right next to the bridge and truck traffic is loud throughout the night!

4-wheel drive car needed to reach the campground. (Not a negative). Impossible to reach via phone (possibly disconnected number). Website domain has expired. We were able to camp across the street but it took extra coordination.

This was an amazing campground! We camped right on the water and could go swimming and we had access to many hikes. I do recommend you go on blueberry ledges trail, it's about 2 miles long but at the end of the hike there are natural waterslides and awesome rock formations.

I camped here during the pandemic in June 2020. I really enjoyed the amazing views of the Allagash Waterway and Mount Katahdin. Restrooms and showers were clean and tidy, and the complementary breakfast was just what we needed. I would definitely stay here again.

I camped here in late august as a group of 4. The amenities were perfectly fine for a campground. I highly suggest site 22. This area in Maine and the campground are worth the trip for the pristine nature of the deep woods.

Great little campground for 20 years until about 7 years ago when a new owner bought the original owners out. New owner put their 18 year old son in charge. The kid wasn't very friendly to say the least...he basically drove all the seasonal campers out. Too bad..was a wonderful place for many years.
