“June 2023, Camden, Maine — I had what can only be described as an art attack. My daughter and I were roaming the streets of this lovely town when suddenly, we saw a painting — children at the beach, a common-enough subject for a painting, but this one captured the exact sensation of being a child at the beach, how purposeful it was, there were discoveries to be made, you needed the right equipment. That feeling of connecting with a piece of art is overwhelming. The painting came from the Carver Hill Gallery, and we stopped roaming and started searching — where was the Carver Hill Gallery? Would it still be open? This was the only day we would be in Camden, we were flying back to New York in the morning.Obviously, this story has a happy ending — we found the gallery, we met Jana, the owner and an artist herself, she introduced us to the work of Christina Thwaites. My husband bought me the painting for my birthday this year. I am blessed to be able to look at it every day, and grateful that it was displayed outside, on a wall blocks away from the gallery. Because of the Carver Hill Gallery, I now think of Camden, Maine as a place to discover art you likely wouldn’t see anywhere else.”

“I love the Page Gallery on Bayview Street. Colin Page and Kirsten Surbey (who is my sister, full disclosure!) have created a welcoming, beautiful gallery space that is a pleasure to visit year round. The artists they represent are varied and interesting, and the exhibitions are educational and exciting. They have great events, which are inspiring for looking at art and also fun for families. I highly recommend popping in to this gallery if you happen to be in Camden!”

“Loved the selection here - lots to choose from! It’s not all miniatures — there are several large-sized paintings and prints, also other items like glass sculptures.”

“What can I say, I’m a biased reviewer who has known Peter personally for several years and have known of his work (not just in photography) for seriously close to 40 years (since I was a toddler). His gallery of his work is exceptional and he constantly adds new work, literally almost daily. And Peter is a sweet and engaging man with many, many stories. DON’T FAIL TO GO THERE! Mention Mark sent you and Peter may buy me a beer…someday ?”

“Magnificent building and use of the space—and lovely variety of artwork. A working goldsmith at the entrance, art inside old bank vaults, original ceiling decorations on the mezzanine level, rooftop terrace all made it a special visit. Loved the artwork and the whole space. Will definitely come back!”

“I'm so excited! Visiting Michael Good's gallery is truly a dream come true! I got to see the FULL collection of Michael Good's work at the same site where he has created his designs for many decades! It's is a pure delight to visit and explore his wonderful showroom and to speak with Avi and Michael about the work. I am still stunned and amazed at how he creates these wearable pieces of sculptural art. Thank you, Michael, for opening your space to offer the world a glimpse into your creative genius and incredible art!”
