I've been going to nose work classes with Pam Hansen for less than a year and my 2 girls are having a ball! I started because I rescued a French bull mix that was afraid of everything. It was suggested to enroll in classes to challenge her. She started immediately to find treats in boxes and from there with Pam's training she had become quite the confident dog. Sometimes my Corgi would join in the games at home so she is now going to Pam's classes as well. Both my girls are having such a great time they can't wait to go to class. They know exactly where we're going on Tuesday nights. It's such great exercise for them and myself as well. We've been to CGC classes as well and now have passed with Merrilyn Hill as our instructor. I can't say enough good things about POC. I plan on attending a lot more classes because of the fun and exercise, especially now that fall and winter is coming.

This place, and the instructors, are great. If you listen, in their stories they help us learn how to best work with our dog. Much better than just saying, do this or not that. We started with our puppy at 3 months. 8 were in the class. We did have a couple of "aggressive" puppies. In no time Merrillynn had the puppies responding to their owners well, without any aggression. You certainly can tell what owners work with the dogs during the week! Boy, the ones who only come to class must be disappointed, because they haven't taught the puppies and muscle memory to build upon each week.

We took our puppy to the recall class and it helped so much. The instructor was super patient and had great advice for every type of behavior our dog had.

My experience was from several years ago, so things certainly may have changed. had a sweet new rescue newf, and had seen this club supporting Newfie Fun Days in Eliot ME so thought I'd drive up and give them a try. It kills me that I can't remember the name of the trainer for our class, and also that I didn't file a complaint at the time. She consistently positioned my newf next to the dog agressive lab in the class. (Right there was a red flag.) Basically she used my dog as a bait dog. I actually didn't figure that out until the second class. We left, never went back, didn't ask for a refund - and I've given the group a very wide berth at Fun Days. Like I said, this was in the past. And that said I literally don't go near these people.

Good service and equally good food. Parking is a bit hard to get but worth it!

These folks are great. We came with a rambunctious pup, and though we left with a pretty energetic puppy, she was listening and trying really hard to get it right. The folks here are able to meet owners and pups where they are and they provide guidance and ideas that help.
