From the unique, prohibition era style cocktails and wine selection, to the smoked olive oil infused whipped cream topping grilled peaches, this place is not to be missed if you want something delicious and different than most options in a rural Maine town. They make you feel like you're in a big city with the flair and flavor profiles, but remind you that you're in small town Maine with their fresh ingredients and spot on customer service. While it may not be standard on busier nights, it's a special experience to have the chef delivering your dinner and describing it to you, if you do get so lucky. They've sealed their spot as our favorite place in town, for both an evening of Karaoke and a special (and mouthwatering) dinner- and we've been to just about every spot within an hour of Kingfield. No one is serving food like these guys, not even the most popular places near Sugarloaf. So glad we've found this gem.

This was such a wonderful spot. Beautiful historical hotel with great vibes, wonderful breakfast and amenities (public spaces, jacuzzi, sauna, yoga class). We felt very lucky to have found this place.

We had a wonderful visit. Beautiful inn and location, loved the massage options and outdoor sauna. Dinner was delicious, and all the staff were incredibly friendly.

I have never stayed at Winters Inn, but I live in Kingfield and I know, or did know most of their employees. All of the employees who lived in the area have quit. This is because of unfair pay and them all feeling disrespected by the owners. My husband did a job for them once. He did 16 hours of labor (assembling furniture). They did not pay him. When he asked why he did not receive any pay they told him he could have a free meal in their restaurant. They are very unsuportive of the community they have moved into, and it is disheartening. I write this to let you know what kind of people you are supporting when you stay at The Inn on Winters Hill.

The room was the biggest disappointment. Only 6 pieces of furniture in the room, 2 beds, 2 luggage stands at foot of bed, 1 small round bedside table between the 2 beds and 1 very small chair. No bureau, no table and chairs, no TV . They use Edison lights without a shade between the 2 beds. Bathroom was redone, more unshaded edition lights, shower only, no tub, 1/2 inch gap under the bathroom door, so no privacy. Can hear hallway traffic like it was in the room.
Dinner was a set menu, 5 courses and 80$ a piece without liquor. (took 2 hours to eat) Food was OK, but not great.
won't go back again, not worth the money

Rating is for the lounge - Love the fireplace and the lighting over the bar.The bartender was not attentive... took an extremely long time to order and receive drinks. Played with his phone while people were standing there waiting for service. He wasn't friendly and acted like we were bothering him. Also, was shocked by our bar bill. 3 house wines (smallest pours I've ever received) and 2 whiskey & gingerales were $71 before tip. Prices aren't even this high on-mountain. We won't be returning.

This is my second trip here. Stayed back in 2020 with the previous owners. Really loving the new ownership and the new vibe. Fabulous sauna and hot tub. Great yoga and meditation room. Easy access to downhill skiing and Nordic skiing. Highly recommended!

We loved staying here. The inn is beautiful with lots of character. There is a hot tub and sauna to be enjoyed after a day of skiing or snowboarding. We will stay here again when we return to Sugarloaf.

Me and my boyfriend just spent a few days here for New years and we kept saying how we can’t wait to
Come back and how much we enjoyed it , from when we first checked in and taken to our room to the friendly greeting and explanation of how everything worked and the few quirks to know while you stay here truly made our experience that much more enjoyable , and truly welcomed . Everything was amazing from start to finish, we didn’t want to leave, in just a few days this place became our little home away from home.
A few high lights from our time here …. great service from all employees, specially Libby , the bartender , she deff was the highlight of why we enjoyed this place so much more, there are several bars around sugarloaf where we were-spending majority of our time skiing but by the end of the day we always looked forward to being greeted by libby and her exceptional and friendly service , and amazing cocktails , there was also alot fun games and cool books to play and read. They also have a sauna outside that takes awhile to heat up so make sure you give it an hour to heat up but the hot tub was amazing after a long day on the slopes.
They also have breakfast served every morning with freshly brewed coffee , staying here is a nice change from a typical hotel , there are no TVs , the water faucet might run and the decor might be outdated but it supposed to be that way , its what makes this place so special it allows you to slow down and enjoy the little things such as going to a cozy nook to read a book , or playing an old childhood game you haven’t played in years or spark up a conversation with a complete stranger and having a great conversation over some great cocktails and great little food options , it make you be present and “ be here now” I deff recommend this place and can’t wait to come back !

Would have been a grand house in its day but needs lots of work to update. There was a big foam pad for a mattress topper. Just didn’t feel very clean. New owners need some experience, check in was disorganized. No Wi-Fi password provided at check in, had to go ask the bartender later. The yoga experience and evening dining is where the bulk of effort goes. Food was really good but not our style to spend 2 hours eating, 15-20 minutes between courses. And don’t really like dogs sitting at my table. Least favorite lodging experience out of the 4 Inns we stayed at over our 10 day trip. The rest were wonderful on all points. We wouldn’t stay here again

I had a wonderful time, and the Inn is beautiful. The location was perfect; we enjoyed our stay very much. The food was terrific, and the service was exceptional. I can't wait to visit again. I would recommend this Inn for couples looking to relax.

We were attending an event nearby and really needed a place to stay with our 2 small dogs. We arrived on a Friday and were informed that since it was under renovation construction noise was to be expected. And it was. Not a real problem but the room in "the barn" was sparse to say the least. One chair, one old creaky bed, a decent bathroom but no mirror. Nice if you don't want to see what you look like in the morning but a real problem if you want to attend an event and look halfway decent. No tv. Normally, not an issue but our 1000 Island cottage doesn't have one so was looking forward to a bit of vacuous viewing. No fridge. There was a wonderful modern air conditioner. Bring earplugs if you are on the first floor as the noises people make upstairs are horrendous, we were awakened both nights at 2:00 am from stomping or bed jumping. Went on for a good hour. A "quiet hours" post would be helpful but the people who were staying there and probably had the entire house ()and a couple of "cheap rooms" in the barn area )were bigwig wealthy types so anything went. It's got a new major yoga studio so go figure on the quiet time aspect. $200.00 a night seems quite exorbitant for what we had. We've stayed in some really swell places for that amount of money; this wasn't one.
