We’re summer residents of Jefferson on Damariscotta Lake. JM&GS is a great community resource; it makes our community better.
Food is excellent from breakfast sandwiches to huge subs/grinders/sandwiches to a great beer section including g the hard to get Molson Golden Ale!
Owners are great, service is excellent and friendly!

Jefferson Market & General Store is the only eatery accessible by boat on Damariscotta Lake. Great food and a friendly crew. A fun destination when you’re out for a day on the water!

This would be 5 stars, if I didn't get to be dragged in to the rudeness by my MOM. She placed phone call for her own order. Some things are best left unsaid to me/customer... who wasnt rude. Especially to an outside person who was NOT involved in this conversation. Don't serve her food. Her actions are not my actions.
I placed an order. I was respectful on the phone and when I picked up order. We wanted a burger that didn't look or taste like, a perfect circle frozen patty. Like some other places use. It was absolutely delicious. Their rueben was so good. Not skimpy on any of the ingredients used to make it. Will eat here again. I was so embarrassed. My 2nd visit in store. I really enjoy all the different crafts & other items. I wanted to run as fast as I could. Had to pay first

Really like and appreciate this store. Go there often for meals and wine. They're sandwiches and pizza are very good. As they say.....I highly recommend this place!

I saw this establishment featured on Maine Street Saturday (WCSH 6) and vowed to check it out if I was ever in the Jefferson, Maine area. How fortuitous to have been in the region lately and stopped in for lunch. The market/general store offers breakfast, lunch, freshly made pizzas, salads, and classic favs like reubens, wraps, quesadillas, BLTs and grilled cheese. I ordered the Fire & Rescue consisting of freshly grilled buffalo chicken, lettuce, tomato, mozzarella/cheddar blend, & ranch on a toasted sub roll ($12.50). This sandwich was MASSIVE, shareable for sure!! This sandwich was expertly executed and an absolute FLAVOR BOMB!! The sandwich contained a huge amount of juicy grilled chicken with homemade buffalo sauce.Yum!!The general store features sundry items, including camping essentials, snacks, drinks and so many other necessities for the community. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, and the ambiance quintessential Maine. This was a great overall experience. This is a must visit if in the Jefferson area. I cannot wait to return!!

Great breakfasts and lunches. Try the Reuben and grilled cheese! Friendly, neighborhood market. Nice to eat in or on the deck. Wonderful addition to Jefferson!
