Mountainview Resort is unique and beautiful on so many levels. It is a resort that sits nestled in the heart of the Moose River Valley and surrounded by a gorgeous mountain range. The lodge is so nice & cozy with the lobby being very welcoming. They have an indoor heated pool & and an outdoor pool, hot tub, sauna, fitness center, common’s w/pool table, fireplace, tv sitting area, and a reading nook with books available. They have five gorgeous cabins on the property that sleep up to 10 people!! The staff are friendly and very helpful. If you love outdoor activities, this is the place to go! Local snowmobile rentals, ATV rentals, canoes & row boat rentals, and white water rafter nearby.

I would like to preface my review by saying I was worried about staying at this location after reading some of the reviews on varying platforms. However this place was nothing like the reviews!! The place was clean, staff friendly, sure a few things are dated, but nothing unexpected for a Maine resort. It’s Jackman Maine, your in the woods. The pool area, is different but very clean. The sauna is a great added touch as well! Right on the main snowmobile trail, close to amenities. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a nice relaxing week at Mountainview. Our suite had all that we needed and was comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful giving us much information on the area of things to see and do. The resort is a bit dated and if you are looking for a 5 star resort this isn’t for you, however it had everything that we were looking for. We were told that improvements are in the future.

Well appointed cabin, 3 bedrooms, 2baths. Very nice porch. Private, quiet. Have not required any service. Room was ready when we arrived. Clear instructions of expectations. Washer and dryer in large cabin. No daily service required or needed.

Important to understand this was to be a quiet, frustration- free week in the Maine woods. It was in the woods away from everything, including the Texas 105 degrees back home, so that part's OK.This was a week-long exchange through Interval International. We didn't stay the whole week. We always consider travel an adventure, but some adventures just aren't necessary. The first clue that this place was about to be an adventure was at check-in when the very nice lady behind the counter (no complaints about her, she was very sweet and informative) handed me two keys: one for the unit and one for the front door to the lodge, with instructions that if we left or returned after the office as closed, we needed to be sure and lock the front door. To the entire lodge. It became somewhat more clear as we went upstairs to the room. There was no one else at the place. No one. The hallways were strangely empty and quiet. The lights were on but no one was home. Whether making a fast run to the grocery store or out for dinner, etc., we had to lock up and then unlock to let ourselves back in. Strange feeling each time. The first morning I went to the front desk and asked how to get to the pool (looked good enough from the parking lot), the response to which was it wasn't open "yet." I asked what she meant, to which she explained that it needed the seasonal opening treatment and a pool guy was supposed to be coming but hadn't shown up. OK, so it hadn't yet been opened for the season. Hmmmm. So, next morning tried again to learn about the pool. The explanation was now that it had rained that morning so the pool guy cancelled. My curiosity was piqued -- why is your pool not yet open for the season and I'm asking about it on July 16th? She replied that all she could do was apologize. The unit itself was clean and functional, although everything was outdated. The walls were pine paneling, which in Maine is just fine. However, the bed and furniture looked as if they were out of a second hand store in the 70s. The kitchen had the necessary dishes, cutlery, and somewhat modern appliances, but the uniqueness of the dish washer was intriguing. The panel that covers that bit below the door had been "replaced" with a piece of black cardboard duct-taped to hold it in place (see picture). Along about mid-week I went out onto the 'balcony' (in quotes to emphasize the small, narrow capacity) to seek better cell signal. While putting in a phone number, I started to sit on the plastic chair. As my weight (I'm skinny) initially settled on the seat, the seat back broke off and the vertical struts that otherwise hold up the chair back then were nothing but sharp spikes that drove into both sides of my waist. After my wife pulled me from my new position of newfound and neverending excitement, we agreed we had had enough. We left. Four days early.Nice lady at the front desk when we were checking in and checking out -- but the 20 year old young lady at the front desk in between the first and last instances seemingly couldn't give a damn. Nice enough insofar as a polite greeting when you could get her attention diverted from her phone while sitting in an office with her back to the door, sufficient information when she deemed it appropriate on her schedule to break out into answer mode after being asked a question.No. No. No. But that's just my personal opinion.Nearby activities: Driving the Maine woods is beautiful but will get monotonous after a few days. For any decent pub or restaurant you'll have to drive an hour over to Greenville or 20 mins down to Rachel's Restaurant in West Forks.

The outdoor pool is not open - I don't think it even works. It was filthy. Inside pool is nice but is only open 10-5. One window AC unit for our suite - didn't cool down much. Pictures are a bit misleading if staying in the main lounge. Our biggest complaint is the hours in which anything is available for use - the pool, hot tub, game room, etc.. all close at 5, so not much time to enjoy it and also enjoy the beautiful sights during the day. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with directions to local falls and hiking spots. The pull out couch is TERRIBLE, an old thin mattress.

Jackman Maine is a lovely town the whole family enjoyed! We hiked most of the trip and were delighted with views of mountains and waterfalls as our rewards. The entry of the resort looks like a lodge and the staff is warm and friendly. We had unit 1, the AC had already cooled the room when we entered. We were surprised how spacious the unit was and easily converted it to a 2 bedroom with the privacy panels. The view from our balcony ensured we spent every morning and evening there. The kids loved the indoor pool and we loved the hot tub after a long day hiking. We will definitely be back! Please note, the resort is not new. If you're booking for the room and not the location this is not the place for you. If you're booking for the location and want a welcoming comfortable place this is for you.

We had never been east before. We had always gone out west on our vacations. Maine did not disappoint us. The scenery is magnificent. The staff were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Jackman is a nice little town with good restuarants.

The cabin was absolutely beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Patti Who runs the place even let us borrow her battery charger for her car when our battery died. She gave us great suggestions on where to hike and see waterfalls and with what are the resources were around.

The cabin was very nice, a lot of space, excellent for families. However, the facilities were old and most of them was not working. Bring enough food, the super market nearby was expensive and not much choices.
