I would like to start by saying I signed the papers and nobody held a gun to my head. That being said I would like to share one of the most disappointingexperiences of my life. Stephanie Cowden of First Choice Realty came to my house and started talking a real good game, trying so hard to prove something. Scott Walker (the owner of the First Choice office) was her mentor and how he "took me under his wing". Stephanie Cowden then preceded to tell me our asking price was way to high, the season was just about over, and it probably wouldn't sell in the winter. By hiring her not only will she be working for and representing me but so would all the other agents at First Choice. When I questioned her about that she really couldn't answer me say it was complicated. Over the course of a few weeks I asked her the same question several times and pretty much got the same answer. But I was desperate and listed my house with her anyway. There were 4 offers 3 of which fell thru. Here is where it gets repulsive. The only bid that was going to work was the 4 and the lowest offer. The buyers agent was Becky Day, another First Choice agent. I asked Stephanie Cowden the same question several times on how Becky Day a First Choice agent supposedly working for me could represent the buyers. Stephanie Cowden never answered the question. I signed the papers. As time went on I tried to get out of the contract, something just wasn't right. Stephanie told me that I would probably get sued. Everything about this deal went to the last minute (deposit, inspection, ect...) It went down to the last 3 hours of the contract and I had already contacted the closing attorney and said at 5:01 PM that afternoon the deal was off. Low and behold Becky Day brought in the buyers and the sale was complete. Two months later the same house was relisted by Becky Day of First Choice for $129,000.00 more than I sold it for. 30 Days later it sold for $90,000.00 more than Stephanie Cowden could sell it for me.The inexperience and incompetence of Stephanie Cowden and the fact that I listened to her, trusted her, and took her advise cost me $90,000.00. I fell for it and then felt like I was played. Becky Day ate Stephanie Cowden's lunch and in the process also ate mine. For a lot of people buying or sell a home is the biggest financial decision of their life. At least it was for me. Please do not make the the same mistake I did and use First Choice Realty, Scott Walker, Stephanie Cowden, or Becky Day. I'm sure somewhere in northern Maine there are real estate agents that are knowledgeable, truthful, morally and ethically sound but you won't find any of these qualities in these three. Do your homework and interview agents. Ask questions and don't accept anything but solid answers. If you have any questions or doubts about what I have said I will be more than willing to talk to you. Stephanie Cowden has my number. The last time she called me about this she started laughing. I asked why she was laughing and she said "because I think this is funny".

The best people I have done business with in my life. Scot is a great Man with a team of people who are willing to get the job done. I couldn't be happier than made my life so much easier. If I had a daughter she would marry First Choice Real Estate .
