Pharmacy is exceptional. In particular, the two gentleman. They seem a bit more patient. People need to cut these people slack. They are showing up to do a thankless job. Your impatience and unfriendly behavior is only going to drive them away. You'll be stuck with new people, or mail orders. They deal with 100's of prescription a day. They also deal with referrals and the complexity of in insurance. I ran a doctors office. I know what comes their way. The front staff change a lot but they are friendly and helpful, more than not.

I could take it or leave it. The place has been going down hill recently so I'm changing my review from 5 stars to 3

I was picking up an expensive antibiotic for a corneal ulcer ( that I couldn't go without)and a young man named Kenneth working in the Hampden pharmacy was so very helpful. He took the time to research, make sure my insurance was correct and found me a coupon that saved me a LOT. I REALLY appreciated the great customer service. Thank you so very much.

I tried to switch to the same pharmacy my partner uses just to make errands easier. HUGE MISTAKE! My insurance covers all of my prescriptions and this Walgreens kept charging me. At first I thought it was an issue with the medication or doctor permissions, but I switched back to Brewer Walmart pharmacy and everything was fine. How can a medication covered by my insurance with a $0 copay at Brewer Walmart cost money at Hampden Walgreens just across town? With my insurance there should be no copay at any pharmacy in my state. When I was trying to make it work at Hampden Walgreens, I asked if there was an insurance problem or another issue and the pharmacy techs just kept saying they checked my insurance and it will cost $X amount. They never tried to figure it out or contact my doctor, despite my multiple inquiries. Going to Walgreens in Hampden was by far my worst experience with a pharmacy in my life. After 20 calls back and forth to my doctor and this useless pharmacy, I can say with certainty Walgreens in Hampden is not worth the headache.

This location was previously a Rite Aid pharmacy and during that time it was efficient, friendly, and easy to use. After it became Walgreens we continued to use it for several years but the service quality decreased steadily after then. 10 to 30 minute wait times became the norm when picking up a prescription, and the drive-through closed for several months as well. The staff is constantly changing, many of them are completely apathetic and have no interest in providing reliable or friendly service. In an ongoing corporate series of changes, it eventually became impossible to reach anyone at Walgreen on the phone, Rx items were frequently out of stock, and errors went uncorrected. Finally, after this pharmacy taking five (you read that correctly) days to fill a prescription, I changed pharmacies to Bangor Drug Co company. Going to Walgreens ironically took more time than it did to drive the extra distance to Bangor Drug Co company. Getting a prescription filled at Walgreens has become far more difficult than it should be. I'm done.

PHARMACY: Do not waste your time on filling rx's here, they are a joke! I get texts/calls saying my rx is ready, and then EVERY SINGLE TIME i go to pick it up it is a minimum of an hour wait. They are never ready. There was a line of 20 people in there today, all of them said they have the same issue. All of us agreed to go elsewhere from now on. I am not kidding, don't waste your time going here.

Made an appointment for booster shot for my husband and I. The pharmacy was closed. Went to front and spoke to manager of store. She suggested that we call the Broadway pharmacy and they will let us go through. She waswrong. Google listing says pharmacy is open on Saturday. Very very frustrating.

My dr called in my prescription 6 days ago. It’s still “in progress”. I tried calling 4 times today and never talked with anyone, the phone just disconnected. After talking with a chat assistant, Kristy, who rudely ended the chat after telling me to call the pharmacy, I called the Hampden Walgreens back, waiting on hold, after being told there were two calls ahead of me. 10 minutes on hold, there was one call ahead of me; 5 minutes later, i got the general store recording, thanking me for waiting, and someone would be with me shortly. After almost 45 minutes on hold, I finally hung up with no answers. Walgreens pharmacy obviously does not care that their customers have medications that need to be filled in s timely manner. 6 days??? And I am without the medication that my doctor prescribed for me! This is absolutely ridiculous! 6 days, Walgreens-you had 6 days to do your job.
