Why bother?
Used to be a treat to come here.
Now its NEVER open normal hours.
Instead they direct you across the stree for some "grab and go", probably the stuff the didnt sell cause they are never open.
Their parking lot was full - people buying pretzels at the food truck!
What a wasted opportunity. Just sell it or close it and get it over with.

Maybe it's good they're shutting their doors for good. The woman that answered the phone just now was incredibly rude and cut me off.

Absolute rudest lady working the cash register in the morning, she was quite bothered about just about every part of my transaction. Walked up with a drink, asked for a can of chewing tobacco and a piece of breakfast pizza. The face i got and attitude i got upon swiping my card sealed the deal for me. I wont be back. Not happy people!

Make no mistake, this is a convenience store and gas station, not a motel. There are no rooms to rent, despite google showing hotel stay search dates. There used to be a motel next door, but that has been gone for years. As a convenience store Jockey Cap Country Store is a gem for locals. The food is damn good, and they stock some quality beers and local ice cream. They set their own hours, and hours are subject to change, so you have to have the flexibility of a local to take advantage of this place. They can be Soup Nazis sometimes, so you also have to know the drill. Yes, that means they sometimes don't have the patience for tourists. Gas is 87 octane only, no premium.

The blonde haired lady with the mole at the checkout has no respect yelled at my family and I for asking a question regarding what was in the food is for ingredients… my son had a food intolerance and was scolded for asking a question to protect himself. As an out of stater this is by far the rudest and out of class store I have ever been to even being in Massachusetts….

They are not one's for first impressions. As soon as they knew we were from out of town the atmosphere changed.. Lady had to keep telling me over and over they don't make any money writing fire permits. Told us not come during lunch because it is to much and they don't make any money. So put your vacation on hold if you arrive around lunch time... what??? So I'm thinking it is some long drawn out process, no it took her 1 minute to write it up. When she was done I was like that's it. That's what all the fuss was over, 1 whole minute. Why offer the service if you do not want or like to do it. I don't understand. Immediately turned us off. We were going to grab some food and more things but decided to move on. The amount of money they would have made from my family and I over the future we plan to come to your town and camp for years to come. I mean camping supplies, food, souvenirs. I will go somewhere else so us tourists don't bother you. Thanks alot.

A great little country store perfect for picking up snacks or prepped food. Tons of options from baked goods, cold drinks, hot and cold prepped food and more. We love stopping here before adventuring for the day!

Friendly faces but extreme prices. $4.00 for a slice of pepperoni pizza? Ludicrous. I’ll stay away from there
