Great meat and poultry, great wine and beer selection, and fresh baked goods from local bakeries. I don't do all my weekly shopping here, but when you want something extra, this is the place to go.

Bow Street Market is a great gourmet market on the eastern fringes of Freeport Village. Parking can be tight at busy times and the price point is a bit higher than the larger supermarkets. But you get quality and several hard to find items (ground ostrich, mince meat with actual meat in it, ground duck, joy joy!). But keep in mind that this is a gourmet market (manager's specials are MIA). Just keep this in mind going in, and you'll do fine.

The first time I had an horrible experience here. I know it has been a couple of years since I been in to grab a sandwich; but they were not accommodating at all, they weren't even busy to take time out to make a Build your own sandwich. I asked the deli if they could make a Genoa, and Provolone cheese sandwich, as I have done numerous times in the past, and this time they said due to the fact that they get busy, that the Genoa, is mixed in with other meats, it comes pretty packaged, and I have to order the combo sandwich. They don't make build your own sandwiches, even though the menu on the glass said you could make your own sandwich. They were not willing to make a simple, easy sandwich, so I left. Ridiculous, especially when you order the sandwiches from a deli. ?♂️I will have to go to Sam's the next time I'm in Freeport, and get hungry for a Sandwich. I was disappointed, it wasn't the Bow St Market that I remember going to through out my life.

The best place to get amazing cuts of meat. This is the one place you can get Singani 63 in Maine.

Be very careful with this market. They appear to be routinely shorting customers on weight. When contacted, a manager named Adam responded angrily, "Do you have nothing better to do than complain about chicken? Shop somewhere else." and hung up abruptly. This is absolutely not the way to win friends and influence people, and I hope that the people in charge of this market take notice and do something about this reprehensible behavior.
