AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. Worst hack accountants in Maine. Rick Garcia did my taxes. He ended up having me file to the wrong IRS office, lost valuable original documents which were nearly irreplaceable and in the end the IRS sends me an unexpected refund check because Garcia had me overpay them by a thousand dollars. The IRS found his errors. Imagine that. Worse yet, this idiot owns Back River Accountants. So, don't bother trying to contact Rick Garcia once you've paid their office fee, his message box is eternally full and he'll never except responsibility for screwing things up anyway. Unresponsive, uncaring and wholly unprofessional.

As a self employed person for the last 15 years, I have never been happier with the process of tax filing. Rick and John are both experts, relaxed yet professional. I love the process they offer, as I feel more involved and more informed in tax savings and preparation. Also, because of the way they do it, I pay a considerable amount less to file my taxes than I have ever in my years of self employment.
